Brilliant club, friendly chatty bar-staff, who aren't afraid to look extravagant, I went to their launch night of fabulous Friday's, the bar-staff were-in fancy dress full make up, and served with a smile, even took pictures with them. Cheapest drinks you'll find in Soho on a Friday, the music was brilliant, atmosphere was insanely good, for a smaller venue it was such a great night out. Will definitely be back there soon.

WARNING: Be very careful when paying the bar staff with a twenty pound note as they will give you change for ten pounds. This has happened so often to myself and the people I know over so many years with so many different bar staff that it feels like they have been instructed to do it.When then complaining about it, the manager refuses to talk to you and the door staff – who are mainly unlicensed 'mates' of the owner – go so far to tell you to "Fuck off you whining bitch." It is a deeply unpleasant and sinister corner of Soho that is not only best avoided but is need of serious investigation by the authorities.

Terrible place. They have a rainbow flag in the window and they called us derogatory names for gays when we tried to get in and made fun of us as we were walking away , flabbergasted as the place is surrounded by gay bars....

My friend and I were in soho saturday night, decided to try Escape as we have been there before and liked it. At the door, the bouncers said that we could not get get in as it was for members only!! We could not believe it, we were not drunk or anyhing and as it was only 11.30pm, the club was near empty. Membership!! when we asked for an application form, we were told we could get it on line. We were very disappointed as we felt that the membership thing was a lie. We only concluded that our ethnicity is foreign, our faces did not fit in. Has anyone encountered this?

Been going to escape bar for many years and always had a good time and sung it's praises. Tonight, in there for about half an hour having a great time with friend, then management suddenly approached my female friend decided to throw her and me out with absolutely no explaination, whilst refunding our entry fee! Very strange! My friend has not stopped crying. Absolute nasty pieces of work manage the Escape Bar! You have been warned!

Me and a friend came down from Newcastle, met up with some friends who live locally and ended up in Escape on Friday (11.9.09).

We are all straight and just fancied something a bit different, a place we could really let our hair down and dance. We got all of that at Escape!!

We had a fantastic night, bar staff were friendly, good music was played and we met some fantastic people. The guys we met from Peckham really made our night.

Mostly men in this club, but as a straight girl that didn't bother me in the slightest ;o) Will definitely go back next time we're down south.

AVIOD!!!!!Very Very small dinky over priced, over rated.

VERY VERY rude staff. Aggressive bathroom attendant who should be in a zoo.

On whole a very unpleasant crap little bar made no better by the tossers that run it.

Cheesy and a bit 'provincial gay bar', but having said that fun and unpretentious without attitude. However the DJ who plays on Saturdays is a little Napoleon and asks the bouncers to eject anyone who makes a request!

Took my shoes off to dance and was dragged out the arm by a bouncer who gave me a lot of aggro. Very unimpressed and went home straight after. Terrible night and would definitely not go back!

Hmmm Escape. I love this bar. It was taken over a year ago by the club Madame Jo Jo's next door and since then things have changed a bit. The crowd has changed slightly...its far less "cliquey" now and the new manager seems to have his head screwed on in regards to music.

It reminds me of how the gay scene used to be, when you could go out and hear music one step ahead of the mainstream and the same old tunes the same old DJs on the scene are playing in the clubs right now.

They let a lot more girls in too these days but I think it makes for a better mix of up for it people, but with no attitude. Single straight guys generally can't get in so there's none of that bullshit.

It's the kind of place you can take your straight mates with no issues although the security might test a bit. Its a great place to go before hitting the big clubs or to finish up if you like a beer and the music but your not into the whole tops off Vauxhall thing or the pretentious screaming queen environment in the rest of Soho.

The bar staff are pretty hot too. After 11pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday are def worth a look.

Its a great pub especially when Simon is DJ. Me and my friends think that he is one of the best DJs in London.

We will definitely come back to The Escape on Saturday night when Simon is DJ. We all wish him good luck!

Amazing, amazing, amazing! Me and group of girls found ourselves in this little gem until the early hours and have not enjoyed a night out clubbing so much in ages. The Escape has really friendly staff and a fantastic group of guys and gals to party with.

We danced the night away to funky tunes and didn't want to leave. The Escape is our first stop next time we are in London!

Went to The Escape last night with my girlfriend and had one of the best nights.
The DJs played wicked funky music, some of our personal favourites. We were loving it and what made it even better was that the people were so friendly and up for having a good time.

Would I go to The Escape again? Like a shot!

I've been to The Escape a few times and it was a pleasent experience. It's a bit small inside but the people that go there are very friendy. The bar staff aren't very friendly at The Escape but I don't go there to make friends with them!

Had an absolutely horrible experience at The Escape. The barman was extremely rude. It took us ages to get a drink and then when we ordered, the service was terrible. The barman sneered at my mate and myself, pulled the money from our hands before I could even open my stack of notes and then literally threw our change on the counter. I did tell him that he was out of order, but he just turned and acted like nothing was the matter. I'd never go back there!
