Utter crap! And The Famous Cock Tavern was the most expensive pub we went in all night (despite having earlier been in a cocktail bar!) I'm giving The Famous Cock Tavern a rating of 1, but only because 0 or less is not available.

Couldn't agree more. Nice to know that a year on from the last review of the Famous Cock Tavern, their standards are still the same. I had exactly the same argument with the Manager. The lemonade was flat and the staff refused to replace it. In the end, we both just poured our drinks on the floor and left. The Famous Cock Tavern is a vile bar with an incredibly useless manager.

Went to the Famous Cock Tavern here last Saturday (17th September) before going to the Garage across the road. Bought a pint of Adams for my mate Gav. Pint didn't clear, a bit cloudy and tasted not great. Politely asked the staff ,who palmed us off onto the manager, for a fresh pint and/or her opinion of the pint.

No change here. Barrel had just been changed and she would not stop to taste the pint or give a fresh one and just ignored us. Tried to talk to her when she was clearing glasess from tables, shrugged off and told that she wouldn't listen. Pint dutifully poured over the floor as we left. The Famous Cock Tavern? Crap pub.

The Famous Cock Tavern has to be the pub with the rudest staff in London. They were more than happy to take our money at last orders at The Famous Cock Tavern but then tried to intimidate us into hurrying our drinks by physically sitting on our table and being rude.

The Famous Cock Tavern is situated right next to Highbury & Islington tube. We popped in there one Saturday night after having a meal in a restaurant on Upper Street. It was the least busy pub in the area and now I know why! I have never experienced customer service like this before. At 11pm all remaining customers were told to finish their drinks and leave. The so called manager actually rudely interrupted a couple to ask that they "acknowldge" what she had just said. She was extremely aggressive and in fact sat on our table staring at us to try and intimidate us to finish our drinks and leave. When we asked if she felt that this was good customer service her reply was that she didn't care about our business as the pub is next to a tube station before telling us in no uncertain terms to F off!One member of staff said that she wasn't rude, just tired. How many of us would love to say that in our work! Don't go to The Famous Cock Tavern unless you like being treated by rude, agressive staff.
