After coming to The Gloucester for the first time in years I couldn't believe the difference! Not to say I was massively unhappy last time I visited but I was not impressed, I found it very average. However on this visit I honestly couldn't fault the place, drinks, food and staff were all amazing. Will be re-visiting without a doubt. P. S try the pies i'm in love!

My friend and me went to this pub for food at lunch time and received good customer service, however, we had dinner there one evening and the customer service was shockingly bad - we were about to order dessert, when I was asked to move tables mid meal, I was'nt happy with this, so I asked them to wait for my friend to return from the toilet, they ignored me and proceeded to move our things to another table. When I complained, the manager said the tables were for diners only, even though he had personally served us our main course. He could have asked several none diners to move but he chose to pick on us. After spending the best part of £50 on food and drink we were made to feel unwelcome and decided to leave our drinks and go to another pub. Also, on another issue, the incompetent barman did not understand why I did not want to accept the first gassy pint of lager from a new barrel. I think they need to get new staff with at least an understanding of the basics. As local customers, we have been going to this pub for years, but we are so upset by this incident that we will not be going there again.

Was directed to The Gloucester, by a uniformed doorman at one of the posh hotels, in response to asking where we could get good food at a reasonable price. We were four adults and two kids and on arrival it seemed there wasn't any room. However, the staff happily moved tables and chairs to create space and insisted it was no trouble. The menu was basic pub grub and we had a selction of pie, mixed platter, sausage and nacho type dishes. All were excellent and the cost was more than reasonable and the lady who served us was courteous throughout. Very welcoming, very good grub and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place as the perfect example that you can still find alternatives to rip off london, even in Knightsbridge. Well done to The Gloucester, excellent!

If you want to experience raw pub grub and rude service then The Gloucester is for you. It looks very nice from the outside and a proper cosy English pub from the inside but we had the worse experience ever. First the bar staff seemed annoyed that we were ordering food and then when are food did come our order was wrong. The worst was the raw fish my friend was served. When we complained the staff acted as if it was our fault.

Not quite sure if the other reviews are talking about the same pub but I would steer well clear of The Gloucester!

I'm not sure what was worse about The Gloucester - the service or the food! Didn't think it was possible to get fish and chips this wrong, until I was actually refused mushy peas upon request, then when I started eating the fish, it was completely raw inside and I was greeted with hostility from the staff. The chicken I ordered was the type of sub-quality chicken that was clearly pumped full of water / chemicals. It was tasteless and not worth the money. Please avoid. There's better places to eat / drink in the area.

I have been there twice this week and both food and service was fine. A bit rude to say people need to get out more and see what a proper pub is like. Everybody has his/her own taste and experience, and mine in this pub was good.

My favorite pub in London. Friendly staff, great drinks and food. Every time I visit London I try to visit this pub, even if I am on the other end of London. This pub gets a 10 + from me. It is clean and close to lots of stores, and Hyde Park.

The Gloucester is an excellent place to relax after a shopping marathon. I enjoyed the beers and a delicious chicken plate. The Gloucester comes highly recommended.
