This has got to be the worst pub in England!! Popped in there for a quick drink with a friend and found the barmaid very rude. She asked what we wanted to drink then turned her back on us before we could answer and started chatting to her staff for several minutes.
When she finally decided to serve us and return with the drinks they were banged down in front of us and when she returned my change she told me she owned me 10p and walked off.
I don't usually write reviews but this woman was rude beyond belief
AVOID!! this establishment had all cost

Do not drink here ! Incredibley rude bar staff, especially the manager. I visited the Golden Heart for a quick drink with my wife while we were browsing the markets on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered a Guinness and a red wine but after a sip my wife felt the wine was either off. The lady that served us said that the wine had just been opened (not sure what difference this would make), but when I looked behind her and noticed that there were about a dozen bottles of the same wine all open with the corks stuffed back in the top. I pointed this out and she said it isn't her responsibility and that I should speak to the manager. She didn't call the manager over so having tracked her down I re-communicated our issue with the wine. The Managers response was to take the wine away, taste it, open the till, give us our money back and say "I am not serving you anything else because whatever I give you will be horrible" !... to say I was shocked is an understatement. We hadn't even asked for our money back, just for an opinion on the wine and hopefully a replacement. She flat out refused to serve us anymore drink. I was therefore left with a full pint of Guinness while my wife was left with nothing !... SHOCKING, SHOCKING, SHOCKING !

Don't drink here! I was waiting for my friend in this pub on Sunday. Waiting until they arrived to decide whether a bottle of wine would be necessary or just a glass would do. In the meantime I was told to get out of the pub as I obviously had no intention of buying a drink and was just going to use the loo. I didn't need the loo at all, was intending to buy several drinks. Needless to say, I went to a pub down the street that was much more friendly and now have no intention of ever buying a drink here. Rude!

Rudest bar staff I have ever come across. One (an older blonde lady) was nice - the other two were foul and unpleasant. My first vist and most definitely my last. Beer was crap as well.

Head to the Ten Bells instead - limited beer selection, but the Bombardier was a nice pint.

The Golden Heart has rude barstaff. They are brash, arrogant and unfriendly. They acted like they were doing you a favour by letting you drink in their grimey little pub. I had to wait a long time to be served at the Golden Heart, and for a Saturday night it didn't look like there were enough staff working.

I went to the Golden Heart with my boyfriend and it was so good we went again on Monday. It was awesome. We were taken care off like never before. I hate pubs, but the Golden Heart has given a new meaning to what a pub should be. Well done to the landlady and her customers for making our weekend so fantastic.
