The Green is a characteristic low-key neighbourhood boozer; sufficiently worn in and comfortable, like an old pair of trainers – never stylish but comfortable. Just the thing for when you want to slum it a bit.

The Venue
The Green could do with a bit of an update. They have ugly pub carpet and battered hardwood floors and there is a smell of booze in the air. Still, it is located on a corner with lots of light, although it is a busy interchange with lots of traffic. There are screens on which to broadcast sporting matches and is packed with enough tables and chairs to accommodate a good-sized crowd.

The Atmosphere
The Green is a typical pub and sports bar although due to its proximity to the BBC facility, it is an interesting mixture of media whores, boozers and blue collar workers.

The Food
There is a full menu of hot and cold foods at The Green; offering both nibbles and full meals at cheap-as-chips prices.

The Drink
Prices are cheap on the usual selection of draft beers as well as some Greene King specialty lagers/ales. They have a reasonable wine list by both glass and bottle and a short list of cocktails and shooters.

The Last Word
There is nothing special about The Green, but nothing off-putting either. It is a typical, no attitude local. You might want to come here you are waiting for payday to arrive.
