This is a fantastic bar, with amazing food and a brilliant atmosphere. Definitely different from your run of the mill usual pubs with interesting decor and inviting seating areas. Their Sunday roast is one of the best I have ever tasted, and the rest of he menu is just as good - definitely not boring pub grub, and not overly priced either.
Would definitely recommend this pub to all my friends and family whether it's an afternoon drink they fancy or a night out.

This place was very nice when visited during the week and the man behind the bar was very polite and accommodating on the Sunday that we visited. Unfortunately however, he was the only person who was - him and the food (apart from being a little sparse with the gravy). The people serving the food didn't say one word when plonking the plates on the table (plates of food that cost £16 and above). At no time did anyone ask how the food was or whether we needed anything else. In fact, my companion had to go to the bar to order the food then go to the bar again and ask for the bill!
Lovely food, great during the week, nice barman, but terrible service on a Sunday.

Came here early on a Saturday evening and was disappointed to find every single table was 'reserved'. Nice pub though, good food and wine, nice atmosphere but would recommend booking a table or just not coming at the weekends which is a shame.

Having lived in the Victoria park for 30 years i am very disappointed that such a great asset to the area has made me and my friends whom where regulars to this pub feel so unwelcome..I am a businessman who understands changes have to be made for a new business to grow, but one things you should never do is destroy the clientele that where their previously...

At last there is somewhere to go in Victoria Park the trendies haven't taken over. I love this pub! Its a treat to the eyes, with warm bottle green tones and heavy stained wood, this is the perfect place for a glass of red and a catch up with friends. The only thing which doesn't work 100% for me is the food. Limited menu and quite pricey. Still, that aside, The Hemingway is a must if you are looking for a more chilled grown up gastro type pub. Imagine an open fire, cosy atmosphere, Sunday paper, chesterfield sofa and a good bottle of red wine. Perfection.

Have been to the Hemmingway a few times now and the food and the service has always been outstanding - especially the food. I am definitely looking forward to working my through the entire menu.

The atmosphere is so comfortable and relaxed that I've ended up staying much longer than I had originally planned, and always enjoyed my evenings there. Am really looking forward to testing out their Sunday lunch and spending a relaxed day there in front of the fire reading all the papers provided.

Would definitely recommend it and have already brought a few friends who have been back without me (not fair they didn't bring me)

Excellent evening organised for an informal group booking. Food really well cooked. Staff very welcoming. Best pint or Deuchars I have had this side of the border. Well done chaps!

The Sunday roast was incredibly boring and unimaginative. Whilst the meat (lamb) was cooked well and tasted good, the vegetables could have been cooked by my 13 year old niece. Stale roast (and very small portion) potatoes, boiled carrots and broccoli served in a flat tasteless yorkshire pudding. The gravy was almost non existent and again tasteless. Over and all the whole thing reminded me of the sort of roast you would be served in an old man pub in and around the fringes of Glasgow's Gorbals. I will never eat another roast at the Hemmingway. A total waste of £13.50

Was here over the weekend and had a thoroughly good time. Food was lovely and my family had a great day. The children were welcomed with open arms and kept entertained with board games and funny looking stuffed creatures. Staff were superb, mainly because having spoken to one of them, everyone who works there seems to own a bit of the place! Planned on going for a spot of lunch and stayed for 4 hours. Beautifully decorated and above all else it was clean which is better than the last time I came here when it was under different management. Nice to have a new local pub that I actually like.

Can't really say what the Hemingway qualifies as? Top food, great selection of booze, really loving the toilets; far from your average pub, hope it changes the pub industry, definitely has risen the bar leaps and bounds,if in the area its a must visit! Kind regardsbarfly

I really have been excited about the opening of this pub as I live down the road and the last owners were mentalists!

The venue is stunning, the staff are amazing and so helpful. I think they have done a great job! My only complaint is the price of food and the small servings of alcohol. The food is massively over priced for something that, to be honest I could eat in other places for half the price. Once this has been addressed (and i know this is an issue for other locals) then Victoria Prak Road would have the perfect pub. Good luck guys and I will of course be back as you have done a great job.

Such a great refit of a stunning building. It has been totally transformed and the interior has to be seen to be appreciated. You feel as if you want to have a look at every corner just to see what curious thing might be there. The clientele and the atmosphere reflect the turn around in the local area and it feels like just the beginning for this place. The food is delicious - comfort food done perfectly. We will definitely be back.
