I have been to this bar a couple of times as it’s conveniently located near the station therefore handy for a couple of drinks after work. Both times I have been in there I have found the place to be dull, depressing and dreary with staff to match. The interior is an incredibly boring brown affair, with uncomfortable furniture sporadically placed around the dingy surroundings. It’s ridiculously dark in there and the lighting isn’t too bright either. It creates about as much of a fun atmosphere as being trapped in a mine shaft.
The main ‘cocktail shaker’ is so concerned with being the centre of attention it seems to distract him from the fact that he is there to serve drinks, not to bore customers to death with his personal music tastes and play wannabe Tom Cruise.
I had the audacity to ask for a drink whilst being the only person in there minus the ‘freeloader friends’ and was told rather abruptly to wait until he finished serving other ‘customers’. I went outside for a cigarette, came back in and dared to ask for a drink again. This time I was totally ignored - it must have been the invisible cloak.
The second time I had the misfortune to visit Bar Bad Attitude, I had unfortunately already arranged to meet someone there who was running late. I asked for a drinks menu and was told I didn’t need one because ‘he wrote it’ (whatever that means), and the idea that I would want a price list seemed to cause further annoyance.
I have never before been to a bar where you are too frightened to ask for let alone choose your own drink or indeed know how much its going to cost you before you get stung. It’s a novel concept and that’s about all this hell hole has got going for it.

I disagree with some of Zoe from ViewLondon's statements about about The Hidden Julep cocktail bar. The interior is wonderful, cosy and comfortable.

I found this place to be one of the most fantastic places to be. The bartenders/mixologists certainly know how to make a spectacular cocktail. If I couldn't choose from the menu, I would just ask a bartender to recommend a cocktail or to make something up with the drinks I like.

My experience was amazing on Saturday 8th December 2007. There was a live saxophonist playing with a DJ (DJ was amazing) and the atmosphere was out of this world...everyone was on the dance floor.

I will, no doubt, be visiting The Hidden Julep again.

I went there last week and I found that the place had a great vibe! The barmen were friendly and highly skilled in delivering interesting and tasty cocktails. The website is well constructed and aesthetically pleasing allowing you to see the vast variety of cocktails that they offer. I will definately return as it is well located and a really fun place to relax and let go.
