It’s a bar, but not as you know it. More like a proud local pub with a superior style, Kensington Bar and Kitchen blends all the right ingredients to make this a top choice for locals.

The Venue
Kensington Bar and Kitchen is situated near enough to the Olympia and Earl’s Court exhibition halls to be a handy place to go – if you’re in the know – after a day of strolling around a show, but far away enough to ensure the regulars reserve their rights over this welcoming bar and kitchen. The decor is stylishly sturdy and tactfully timeless. With free Wi-Fi access, it’s the kind of place you can hold an impromptu meeting in, or slouch on the couch watching the football.

The Atmosphere
Friendly just doesn’t justify the staff’s eagerness to please and make your visit as memorable as possible. In between pouring a pint and ringing the till, they will most certainly have asked you as many questions as you let them – and they seem to be genuinely interested in every customer that comes through their refurbished door. Fortnightly comedy nights and regular live music (in a venue where Queen used to hold meetings) combine to make Kensington Bar and Kitchen a one-stop shop for the night.

The Food
You really should have a bite of the burgers. And the fish ‘n’ chips, the Cumberland sausage, the antipasti platter... The eclectic menu at Kensington Bar and Kitchen is given tasty, fresh ideas twice a week, from spaghetti with creme fresh crab and chilli oil to blackened chicken salad with guacamole and three bean sauce. The regularly changing menu ensures you can keep coming back for more and never tire of what’s on offer.

The Drink
Cocktails are on their merry way with plans to implement a menu in the near future. Until then, there’s a good choice of beer (including a decent selection on draught) and wine, starting at £3 for a small glass of house red.

The Last Word
An average-looking pub steeped in history has become a bar and restaurant that, by providing the quality fun-factor for the quiet neighbourhood, looks set to have a fantastic future.
