Went in here a couple of weeks back, on a Wednesday evening about 18:30 with 4 friends for a quick drink straight after work. Although only half-full, after 10 minutes we had still failed to "attract the attention" of either person behind the bar - after being ignored for the umpteenth time in favour of someone coming straight in off the street, we left.

What a complete and utter waste of time - who knows what the beer is like - the utterly rubbish service put paid to finding out....

The Lamb is a wonderful pub with a quiet environment. It does nice British food and is very comfortable. I first visited The Lamb in 1977 and it still has the atmosphere of locals spending a couple of hours in a friendly place.

If you don't like pubs with character then don't bother going to The Lamb. This is a fantastic gem of a pub which has a lot of character and charm. It's far enough away from the beaten track for it to be inhabited mainly by locals and some adventurous students.


If you're looking for a slightly old-fashioned evening, where real ale and conversation are high on your list of priorities, then Lamb is one of the very best places to do that.
