This wonderful old pub typifies all that is great about London with history seeping out of it's very walls. The theatre attached recalls the beginnings of British Music Hall which started in rooms attached to pubs and spread from pubs to the more opulent theatres that began to be purpose built. The interior is wonderful and is one of my favourite Battersea public houses.

The pub has everything that a great pub should. Good location, comfy leather sofas, tables and chairs. Also good for watching sport and a good beer garden. Unfotunately none of this matters when the people who serve are no good. No smiles. A 'I'm doing you a favour by serving you' attitude. No Ps or Qs. The staff are very poor and spoil a potentially great pub.
