I have to say I had a great night at The Legion in shoreditch. It's certainly one of the better bars in the area and not ridiculously over priced. I will be going again very soon!

Quite a good night really. Great 2 for 1 offer which we took full advantage of. The music was a mix of new and classic favourites.

Had a great time, and would return. Booking was free of charge, bonus!

I booked a table for my birthday on Saturday 10th October for about 20 people. I arrived around 7pm, early I know, but wanted to take advantage of the 2 for 1 cocktail offer, and the table was waiting.

The seating area was a bit small - there was seating for about half of the 20.

But to be honest this didn't really matter - those who were there early got to sit and drink cocktails and by the time the rest arrived, everybody was generally milling about and those who had drank about 4 cocktails by this point were starting to dance so lack of seating for all was not a problem.

In fact, I preferred it as it encouraged my seperate groups of friends to mingle a bit! I booked this bar (I had never been before) and about a week before my birthday was a little worried as a week before I read a couple of bad reviews - but it was great, relaxed, fun etc.

I could have made a meal out of getting another table, but sometimes it's just better to be a bit relaxed about these things and go with whatever.

All my friends had a great time and everybody was impressed by the cocktails and the friendliness of the bar staff - Unfortunately I live in West London so it's a bit of a trek for a regular outing, but shall definately be back very soon.

Seriously do not go here. I am not a fan of pretentious shoreditch bars and this is one of them.

Had a terrible saturday night (the details are in the posts below), ruined entirely by the manager.

Over priced and quite frankly not even that great compared to the other bars nearby i.e. Electricity Showrooms and Bar Music Hall.

If you want to have a good night in Shoreditch don't go to the Legion it's Shite.

I was part of the same party as the posts below, and it beggars belief that when presented with an email stating "you will have to pay after 11pm" that the manager refused to hold his hands up to what was probably a genuine mistake, (he may have meant to say 9pm, but hadn't put that in the email) and let the rest of the group in, particularly when it is someone's 30th birthday and the chances are he stood to take £300 / 400 behind the bar with us all in there.

If he had a brain in his head he would have forgotten the entry fees for our group and encouraged us to stay in there: we'd have felt like we were getting a deal, and he'd still have taken the same money, but behind the bar instead.

Needless to say I won't be recommending it to any friends for their birthday, which is a shame as the place itself is pretty good inside, it's just a shame the manager doesn't have much business sense.

What a badly run bar. Went there for a friends birthday at the weekend and can't stress how BAD our experience was!!

We had an area booked, and were told it was fine to arrive before 11 free of charge. I arrive at 9:15 with 2 friends, and 2 of our party were already there.

Got some drinks, and then found out the rest of our party were outside in the rain being refused entry.

There were 30 of us in total, so 25 people standing outside in the rain. 2 of our party then tried to ask the manager what had happened.

Instead of helping us, he seemed determined to make matters worse for us! After a while, the manager ignored the head of our party as he was talking to him.

He carried on doing what he was doing and didn't even look at us! It would actually be laughable if it wasn't so bad. We then had to leave, and obviously didn't get a refund on our drinks.

Headed off to another bar down the road and had a really good night in the end, no thanks to this place.

If I could give no stars I would! My boyfriend and his friend had an area booked here for their joint 30th Birthday last weekend.

The Manager who we booked the space with told us that as long as everyone was there before 11pm then it was free to get in, otherwise you had to pay.

21 of us turned up at 9.15pm to not be allowed in. We waited outside for a total of 45 minutes in the rain while the "Manager" tried to explain that we all had to pay to get in even though we were told different when we booked.

He was rude and totally unhelpful and was not willing to help us at at all. Even all the bar staff inside (as a few were already in) said that it was after 11pm you were charged!!

So instead of letting 21 people in who had booked an area and would have paid for drinks all night giving them money they turned us away!!

Which ruined the start of the night. We then had to try to find another place to go to.

If you want your night ruined then go to The Legion otherwise I would recommend you do not go here, the Manager especially should not be a Manager as has no people skills whatsoever!
