What a random highly entertaining delight. Saturday night and not a sole in sight bar our group of 5 lesbians (looking to see what Stoke Newington a.k.a Lesbian Central has to offer) and a lone gay male of pensionable age in a leather waistcoat habitually sniffing from a bottle labelled with a red X and making whooping noises.

It was such fun in a bizarre way. Music was good, drinks poor, bar staff friendly and actual and layout and decor very welcoming and cosy. Where do all the ladies go on a Saturday night?

Headed there on Friday night. Took an hr to get there from Oxford circus (bus 73). The place was dead at 8:30pm. First visit and all I have to say is don't bother! My other half and her newly acquired (lesbian) friend were all too excited about this place. What a let down. I left 10mins after entering the bar. They had a drink and left for more sociable sights. I guess you need to go there on a special event night

The Oak Bar is the venue for the monthly 'Lower the Tone' party. It is a fun filled night with three different DJs playing anything from The Coral to Olivia-Newton John. There's a very cool crowd at The Oak Bar if i do say so myself and I always find myself landed on the dance floor trying to win a prize. It is a really classic, good fun night out.

The music at The Oak Bar is awesome. If you want to have a big night and dancing is your thing then you'll love it here. Make sure you dress to impress as the young crowd here does. The beer isn't that great and the bar staff don't give you the time of day but hey, if you want to show off your moves then you should check out The Oak Bar.
