Exactly as its name suggests, the building is an old dairy which has now been respectfully transformed into a superb North London gastro pub offering an imaginative menu and lively atmosphere.

The Venue
The Old Dairy is a spacious building which has been tastefully decorated with a mixture of contemporary artwork, fashionable wallpaper and exposed brick walls. The main pub has a mixture of comfortable seating and wooden tables and the dining room is tucked away behind the hustle and bustle of the bar.

The Atmosphere
The atmosphere is lively with a sociable mix of locals and destination drinkers who clearly feel that The Old Dairy is worth the travelling time. The music is as eclectic as the decor and piped through the pub and dining area at a comfortable level so you won't find yourself straining to hear what your group of friends are saying. There is also a pool table which is sadly still a rareity in the capital's contemporary gastro pub scene.

The Food
The dishes here are imaginative and the reasonable prices are refreshing especially given that the portions are sized for healthy appetites. Starters range from a delicious yet very filling parsnip and wild garlic soup brilliantly finished with a dash of truffle oil to succulent seared scallops with crisp pancetta and pea puree which has a subtle chilli kick.

Chargrilled Hereford rib eye steak with a classic bearnaise sauce is served as a main and the meat is suitably tender although it's let down a little by flavourless, thick cut chips. Vegetarians can opt for the divine wild mushroom, spinach and gruyere crepe gateau served up in a collosal portion. The dessert list is also very inventive: steamed orange and walnut pudding with clotted cream and a drizzle of honey and kumquat and cardamom rice pudding are amongst the five choices available.

The Drink
Whether you're a fan of the grape or the grain you'll be well looked after. There's a wide selection of draught and bottled beer available and the wine list is not only extensive but reasonably priced.

The Last Word
The Old Dairy is a unique pub that's bound to suit you perfectly whether you’re looking for a gastronomic experience or simply to socialise in a fantastic looking venue.
