A family-friendly little local boozer packed with a cheerful crowd, drinks and Thai food.

The Venue
The exterior of The Old Parrs Head is clad in colourful flowers, as is the courtyard garden out back. The inside is a bit cramped – especially when packed out for a match on the big screen. There’s plenty of outside space for smokers and sun worshippers and you can even bring your laptop to take advantage of their wireless internet.

The Atmosphere
The Old Parrs Head is a family-friendly pub with a wide appeal - it’s comfortable without trying too hard. Small enough to feel cosy but with enough space to allow you to bring a few friends along, the staff are friendly and it has an open, inclusive feel.

The Food
A clean, open kitchen at The Old Parrs Head produces lovely, well-priced Thai food. It may not be the best you’ve ever had, but it is certainly agreeable and at easy on the pocket prices. Try the green curry – a great way to start your evening.

The Drink
The Old Parrs Head serves up British and Continental beers on tap as well as more exotic cider offerings. There is something for everyone with spirits, shooters and cocktails in the mix. A pint will set you back about £3. Leffe is always a good choice – it won’t overpower the Thai food.

The Last Word
The Old Parrs Head has made an effort to set themselves apart from the other local pubs in the area, and it shows by that fact that it is often full - especially with rugby on the big screen.
