A group of us recently visited The Old Ship after a show at the Hackney Empire. The food was excellent, service from our Waiter was excellent - really friendly and welcoming. The staff really went out of their way for us. The prices were good & the quality of the food we were served was great. The decor and surroundings were nice, a very clean and tidy restaurant. A real little gem. We would all definitely go back again. Excellent review for a great little find.

The pub is nicely refurbished, but food is terrible. 3 tiny scraps of so called fish on a skewer with more lemon wedges than fish. Value for money horrified, taste terrible, i still havent digested the food. Not sure about kitchen staff, needs more attention on the food as its appalling. You cant redecorate and charge gastropub charges when your serving scraps of food, not acceptable.both times my food was more acceptable for your dog than human consumption. They need to sort out the kitchen and food, pub is nice for a drink but dont eat there.

Just been to The Old Ship as it has recently been refurbished. Quite honestly, I was surprised and impressed. It's done up really nicely with comfy couches, swanky chandliers but the staff are really nice and down-to-earth. The food is really good too and it's a nice place just to relax and chill. Wll definitely be coming back here with all my mates!

This place has just reopened after refurbishment. Has been done up pretty well, much better than before and the food has certainly improved. Will definately make the effort to visit here more often. Very nice.
