I have been to the Old White Bear a few times since it opened this year and I have enjoyed every visit so much that I felt compelled to write a review. It's probably more of a restaurant but it definitely has pub qualities - serving top notch food as well as a huge variety of lovely wines. If you don't want to eat you can sit in the bar area and just have a drink. In the summer you can sit outside and watch the world go by.

The staff have always been friendly and efficient. Their menu is delicious and varied and I highly recommend the desserts!! esp the brownie which was just to die for. If you're after good food and great service then go to the Old White Bear, you won't be disappointed!! (oh and the decor is really cool too!)

I have been to the olde white bear a couple of times now and really love it! The food is great (options for sharing if that's your preference) not to mention the wine list which is well thought out, without being over the top expensive. The guys that work there make you feel welcome whether you are a local or a new face. I recently had my birthday in the private room, the manager who helped me arrange it was super helpful and the room offered the intimate experience my friends and I were after. I would definitely recommend the pub for a cosy night out.

The Old White Bear was my favourite drinking venue in Hampstead: a true pub with a great country feel and excellent beers.

Unfortunately, it has now been transformed into another bland, soulless gastropub that is designed to cater for people visiting Hampstead rather people who live there.

If you want to drink in a identikit gastropub that has arrived flat packed from Notting Hill then you'll love it.

If you prefer pubs with character then you'll hate it.
