The Orchard Tavern is one of the only child friendly normal pubs left in W12. Friendly, family run and not expensive. Lovely new patio area overlooking Askew Rd, with dogs welcome too. The staff are wonderful, they give the kids sweets on arrival, and treat them as customers and not nuisances. The other customers ranged from locals watching sports, reading papers on their own, or other friends and families meeting up. The Jukebox was at the right volume, toilets were clean, and there was a disabled access. A real gem of a pub, not changed and full of the new poncy brigade of yuppies that seem to have taken over all the other pubs in the area.
No food is served at The Orchard Tavern, but I think that's part of its success, it's relaxed unrushed and comfortable.

I live across the road, so it's easy to stagger home, for me this is a plus... the pub is not bad, pretty spacious and you can normally get a game of pool. People there are of local origins generally but it's not like walking into a western saloon. its a pub; nothing special, nothing bad.
