I am pleased to note that this former 'boozer' is now a more pleasant place to wile away an evening. The food has certainly improved and the introduction of Karaoke nights has introduced a better atmosphere in the pub. The staff are on the whole friendly without trying too hard and leave you with the feeling that going back is more of an option that it used to be.

On the outside it still gives the impression of a pub that should be avoided but once instead the space and the general overall ambience make this venue one not to be overlooked especially as at the other end of wood lane the 'wine bar' 'cool pub' options are now a little pretentious. The Pavilion is a pub, with good food, good beer and nice staff and sometimes that's all you need.

Went here at lunch time. The food was rubbish and took ages to appear.

My pint tasted like it was watered down. We sat outside but because the pub has put up massive umbrellas (that cant be taken down) we werent actually able to sit in the sun at all.

Crap pub - avoid.

This pub has to be the worst pub food and service I have ever had. If I could have a negative rating and no star at all, I would.

I walked in and bar staff were not paying attention to who was waiting at the bar to get served.

I finally got served, and waited over half an hour for food.

I finally got fed up and walked into the bar, to say, courteously, that I had been waiting for over half an hour and actually had to get back to work now, if I had been informed of the wait, I would have not ordered food - but the reply was an 'ear full' of rudeness from the bar lady, "Can't you see we are busy! Not my fault that food hasn't arrived yet!"..

And ON and ON she went, even after I said I wasn't actually complaining yet!

Just had to walk away from her mid sentence. When the food finally arrived when I got back to my table, you'd think - basic sausage and mash, can go wrong with this?..

The Gravy was actually oil, with a splash of some brown stuff. The sausages were oozing oil, and franklly, it was one of the most disgusting pieces of food I have ever been presented with in a public establishment.

I washed my unfortunate few bites down with as much of my drink as I could (to try and remove the taste) and left immediately.

Shame..as It was a nice day to sit out...The ONLY plus of the establishment.

Don't waste your time here, Bad service, bad food, bad smell in the place is like dust and old shoe boxes.

I can't believe I'm having to use a star at all for this review.

Please imagine that this one star represents the lowest possible rating known to man.

I have never been to such an unfriendly, dirty and over-priced grubby little watering hole in my entire life.

Darts?, Pool? why would I be interested in that as a passtime unless of course I wanted to associate with lower working class people. Don't bother!

I agree. Why on God's Green Earth would this pub have a dartboard and a pool table unless it was to attract 'the lower working class people'? What were they thinking?

Next, they'll be removing the food menu and replacing it with a communal trough of beef stew.

Oh how I long for a London establishment that has the moral decency to deny admittance to social groups who work with their hands and watch ITV.

Terrible place. Food is awful - my cod and chips arrived cold.

Huge umbrellas permanently up meant not being able to enjoy the sunshine in the beer garden!

Staff don't smile, which is surprising given they must know how bad the place is.

I'll not be back unless I need the toilet and i'm passing.

I have to say, this has got to be one of the worst run pubs i've been in for a long time.. The food is not much to be desired! Over priced, and under sized.. It tastes like it comes from a microwave :( very disappointing considering the price! The beer.... Does the current manager even know how to clean the lines???The staff, very rarely smiling.. Lucky if they can understand your order, others just stand around gossiping waiting.. for the customers to serve themselves? The bad atmosphere and bad attitude behind the bar makes the drink taste just that little bit worse!Overall , this is a great pub to vist if your looking for bad attitude, bad service and the worst beer for miles

The Pavilion is a traditional pub with ales, darts and pool. They have a ladies darts night on a Tuesday I think? The food is typical pub food - fish and chips etc. It's a big pub with lots of room and doesn't get too packed but The Pavilion is the only watering hole near here.

I went here before a QPR game and despite some of the negative comments written above, found the pub very welcoming and not too expensive by London standards.

The beer was fine,so was the sandwich I had and the staff were perfectly polite.I shall certainly return should I find myself in the area again.
