Went here for lunch today (04-May-2012). Was told it would take half an hour to be served food. Fair enough, at least you warned me. Ended up taking 45 minutes. My chicken and bacon tagliatelle had no chicken and a teaspoonful of bacon.

I enjoyed better food and a more "vibrant" atmosphere when I was a patient in hospital.

I think its a great venue because I like rock music but I don't want to spend my time in a dirty dungeon. This place is clean, airy and light, like an up-market bar, but they play great music. Their jukebox is filled with a great selection of rock tunes from classics to exotic and their meatballs are great. None of that out-of-freezer Tesco stuff - they're proper hand rolled and fresh meatballs.

During the day you get a fair few "suits" in there, which is only to be expected due to its location. I've taken clients in there and they've loved it because the food is great and the music is different. Creates a good atmosphere for a working lunch.

I've attended two live gigs in the downstairs venue as well and both have been very enjoyable.

Top marks for staff as well. Very friendly and courteous.

So yes, if you're expecting a dungeon because it is a rock bar, you might be disappointed, but if you want rock music is a nice setting, then this is the place for you!

Q. When is a rock bar not a rock bar?

A. When the sound-system is so quiet and tinny that you cannot hear your jukebox selection over the sound of normal conversation from a few people in a near-empty bar. And when you are told it is last orders at 10:40pm on a Tuesday night when the bar's website said it would be open until 11:30pm.

This place is about as "rock" as Coldplay.

Having read some less than favourable reviews about this place, I went in and checked it out first before booking a table for me and a few other friends. The manager was extremely helpful and then despite us turning up an hour and a half later than we said we would and the place being absolutely rammed, we still got our table. The Swedish beer was very drinkable, they have an excellent selection of rock music( I appreciate that taste is subjective but any jukebox that has appetite for destruction, back in black and nevermind is good enough for me) and there was a lively atmosphere throughout the night. This is not a dark and dingy rock club - if that's your scene then there are plenty of those in Camden. This is a well run bar with great drinks, pool tables and rock music. If that's your idea of a good place to spend the evening with friends then I'd suggest checking it out.

I have one word to describe this place--JOKE! I tried booking a party with these people, but they didn't want my business because my budget for food was not as high as my budget for drinks. After some discussion, they begrudgingly took a deposit from me. Then I walked down the street and found a better pub so I decided to book my party with them. I went back to the Poopline (er, I mean the Pipeline) 20 minutes later and tried to cancel. They said, sure you can cancel, but you are not getting your deposit back! I could not believe how horrible management acted.

I heard that the owner is a former suit going through a mid-life crisis by trying to run a Swedish Rock n' Roll pub...well, you lost a customer buddy and you know nothing about customer service! I hope you have fun hawking your sick Swedish meatball to people dumb enough to want to hang out that the Poopline.

Stay away and keep your money secure from these shady people! Star rating: ZERO!

This place lost my credit card, refused to acknowledge their mistake, even went so far as to lie about it... just shocking. This is after they messed up our party booking - perhaps an alarm bell should have been ringing. Will never go there again and certainly do not recommend it. There are several much nicer bars in the area. Amateur, careless management don't deserve the custom.

I've been to The Pipeline a few times now and can safely say it has the best selection of rock music on its Jukebox, the atmosphere is really friendly and laid back, the loos are supremely clean as bars go and I would take my group of friends there anytime and would not feel I would be letting them down. Five stars for The Pipeline for being unpretentious, welcoming and an acute taste in great music, oh and a final word the crowd were very cool in a not having to try way.

I gave this place one star because there doesn't seem to be an option for no stars. The place markets itself as a rock bar but it is most definitely not. Most of the staff are pretty square, the clients are 99.9% city workers and by and large the place is usually empty. Aside from that, there is zero atmosphere.

Perhaps stating on their website that they have the cleanest toilets in London was something of an error too. They stink and are incredibly dingy and 9 times out of ten have no toilet roll. I think that would be acceptable/normal in a real rock bar.

The food is limited and really only caters for carnies. But the drinks aren't too expensive. Avoid the Butlins style cocktails though.

Erh don't quite get The Pipeline, don't get me wrong it's an alright bar just a little confused. It's a Swedish Rock Bar for Suits, I think?!? A very clean cut not your usual Spit and Saw Dust, rock bar. It is a rock bar because it place rock music and has some pictures of Kurt Cobain on the walls. So yes it is a rock bar, I think?!? It's a big place over two floors (they have bands downstairs), always seems a little empty because of its size, you feel like your rattling around a little. Staff are nice and pleasant. Customers tend to be from the city, typical groups of Bankers and Insurance sales men, very rock! An improvement on the Puzzle bar that used to be there.

Pleasant transformation from The Puzzle, friendly staff, not overcrowded (yet, as I assume most people are unaware of it), great music and good clientèle.

Not to mention the food which is a great and an unusual alternative to your normal pub/bar snack food.

They have gone for the Scandinavian cuisine, cooked to perfection! The pasta with chanterelle sauce and the Wallenberg burgers are to die for!

A definite contender for those after work drinks so spread the word! Also check out their special events, I understand there is an upcoming comedy night......

I went to The Pipeline on a Friday night with my Girlfriend and was pleasantly surprised that it was fairly empty (something to do with the fact it was only 17.30, I guess)...although I did end up spending another three hours there but the place never got too busy - which in and around the City, is a godsend!

Welcoming barstaff who wanted to know how I found out about the place...I had actually walked past earlier in the week and thought The Pipeline was actually a gallery and or, a clothing boutique...until I noticed the bar...

I don't think I'll be the only one to think this which may cause a problem with promoting it as a venue.Drinks were fine, a decent selection of Lager and spirits.

We had a bowl of 'curly fries' which alone would have been worth going there for...good work! The patrons were 'City'...I'm not wanting that to be a criticism but if The Pipeline is advertising itself as a 'rock n roll/punk bar' - the clientele are certainly not!

This is something that may come back to haunt it in the future as the persons it is trying to attract would probably be put off with the City location and lack of 'grime' (something that personally, a rock n roll place needs).

Jukebox was fine, the usual suspects showing up but also some tunes that do not belong in a rock n roll bar!!!!! Get rid of the pop and the Arctic Monkey's - they are shit!!!All in all, I will go back and would certainly recommend it to friends...just not the ones who are actually into rock n roll/punk.

Nice clean place that at the moment lacks the buzz a 'real' rock n roll bar has - check old school filthy mcnasty and the big red for places that really do sing: ROCK n ROLL.
