Was delighted when this place opened and really wanted it to succeed. It's very convenient for where we live and the menu reads well. We went a number of times last year, but stopped because it never seemed to feel like good value for money - you can eat better elsewhere in Camden for much the same price (e.g. the excellent Camden Brasserie).
But they have just started doing half price on food if you order it between 6-7pm, so we gave it another try. Unfortunately I had a piece of lamb shoulder which was cooked to oblivion and so totally dry and tasteless (when I commented that it was overcooked, I was told it was meant to be that way!). My guests had the salmon and the portions were so small, I had to feed them something else when we got home. So it still didn't feel worth it at half price.

What a nice pub. I get so bored with all the corporate rubbish you get in some places. Nice layout, interesting decor and the sausage and mash deserves seconds!
Handy function room too. I was really quite impressed.

My second visit and I would reccomend the Prince Albert if you want good food, good value and warm welcoming atmosphere.
Menu is chosen for "good eating" rather than being stuffed with the dishes that are "in" and on every other menu which makes a nice change if you eat out as often as I do.

When it first opened I was treated to a meal here - the food was 1st class but service was not to same standard but was easily forgiven by the management explaining they had recruited for personality and good attitude to service rather than experience and some staff were still under training. Although rather inept staff were very enthusiastic and keen to be of service.
Only sad point was certain lack of atmosphere as rather empty - surprising in view of quality of food. Naturally enough word of the quality has got around and it is now busy, and rightly so.

I had an absolutely first class lunch here. As I normally dine in the West End it was a treat to find somewhere near the stations with excellent food and attentive service! The wine list is also very impressive - a superb experience and HIGHLY recommended!

I have been hear a few times good food, but the bar staff are undertrained and useless and either the manager or owner seems to be a bumbling toff. overall great grub and my other comments wouldn't stop me returning in the future.

I have been going to the Prince Albert for a couple of months now and it has got to be the best gastropub I have ever been in. Not only is it one of the most relaxing, atmospheric and unpretentious venues but serves a vast array of beverages and consistently superb food. The restaurant upstairs offers a sophisticated menu with an extensive range of dishes, all reasonably priced. The bar downstairs also serves food; mercifully it has decided to break the norm of traditional bar food in favour of more up-market, yet popular dishes. (The sea bream is exquisite)

I definitely recommend the Prince Albert to anyone looking for an after-work or weekend retreat to unwind and relax. Its cosy, “local” feel keeps me coming back.
