The ViewLondon Review
The Prince Regent is an upmarket gastro pub that fits in splendidly with its Kensington surroundings. The VenueSplit into two, the bar is at the front of the Prince Regent whilst the area towards the back is for those wishing to dine and each area has its own distinct personality.
The pub is a homely haven with a welcoming wooden bar standing as the centre of attention. Meanwhile, the restaurant is chic without trying too hard. Cornflower blue walls are mixed with dark wood and a couple of impressive canvases adorn the walls.
The AtmosphereThe pub has more bustle to it than the dining area does. There’s a pleasant air to the Prince Regent and you’ll feel at ease whether you are there to dine or to drink. It’s a pub that's equally suited to a few relaxed rounds or a mouthwatering gastro pub meal.
The FoodMoreish starters are a good indication of the meal to come with superb salads, mussels, fishcakes and olives enticing the palate. Heavy pub fare follows with fish and chips, bangers and colcannon, steak with mash and slow roasted pork belly whilst lighter dishes are also on offer for those who may find some of the food a tad on the hearty side.
The DrinkIf you’re after a nice drop of red or white there’s no need to look any further. A fruit basket of flavours are on offer with no less than 30 wines to browse through whilst a handful of pinks and champagnes prove equally as tempting.
The Last WordGo to the Prince Regent if you are after brilliant nosh at reasonable prices or if you are in the mood for a few lazy drinks with good company.
