Having bought a round of drinks at The Princess Alice just before the bell went, I was really annoyed when the landlord came round at 11pm and told us to drink up and go. He gave us five minutes to finish up, despite the fact that most pubs give you 20 minutes.


A group of guys on a neighbouring table who tried to complain were given short shrift. Even the bar staff looked embarrassed. The landlord obviously hated his job, was rude and had no respect for his clients. There are loads of nice pubs in this area so don't bother with The Princess Alice. Unless you like being treated with total disdain.

I recently went to The Princess Alice for lunch and found that the pub is currently under new management and has changed dramatically. It has had a spring clean and is very tidy. It is no longer a blokey pub but is frequented by both men and women and seems to be very popular. There is a good menu selection which includes favourites such as pie and mash.


When I went back to The Princess Alice during the evening the place was really busy. The pub had a warm and friendly atmosphere and I had a great night out.

YOU MUST HAVE BEEN LUCKY AS I WAS THERE RECENTLY AND THE RECEPTION FROM STAFF ECT WAS MORE THAN COLD

If you like rowdy, smoky sports orientated pubs you will like the City Darts. Its always full of men and not good looking ones either. City Darts is definately a mans pub - well old mans put anyway.
