I went there for breakfast. The service was very slow. Waited 45 mins for the food and no one else was in the pub. When my bacon sandwich finally arrived it was in a toasted bap which had not been buttered so was very dry. The bacon tasted burnt as it had obviously been cooked on something unclean, and it was very fatty. My boyfriends full English was no better. All tasted burnt, and one of the eggs was broken and was hidden under the other one. Completely disappointing and would never return.

Have always loved this pub - it has become a 'mandatory' stop before catching a train home and we've been using for years and years. However, a cautionary tale - we made the mistake of pointing out to the barman that there was something wrong with our drinks. He refused to check/change them, so we asked to see the Manager. It turned out the coke needed changing and he replaced our drinks. However, as soon as he went off duty, one of the barmaids (clearly a close friend of the barman) took over and then refused to serve us any more! At 50+ I was refused service in a pub for the first time in my life and found it a hugely humiliating experience.

Such a shame - we'll have to find another last stop watering hole

Wonderful location for lunch - excellent traditional foods and ales combined with a server possessing a great personality. Will visit again when we return to London.
