The ViewLondon Review
It’s hard to imagine what this pub was like before it was magically transformed into a chic venue, so successful is the refurbishment with its sleek wooden lines and a stylish mezzanine level. The VenueThe Queens Arms pub is spacious and stylish without being pretentious. There is a strong contemporary feel throughout but the pub still remains comfortable.
Barflies can enjoy a candlelit drink downstairs whilst diners are seated upstairs on the mezzanine floor.
The AtmosphereNicely relaxed, The Queens Arms attracts the hip thirty somethings that you'd expect to find in a great looking gastro pub. The low seating and ambient music make it ideal for catching up with friends whilst enjoying a drink from their large selection of beers and wine.
The FoodThere is a separate pub and restaurant menu available at The Queens Arms. The pub menu has an impressive range of dishes and the lamb and mint burger served with tzatziki is succulent and complemented nicely by the Greek style topping. There's also a range of platters to share.
The restaurant menu boasts a variety of delicious starters. You'll find dishes such as cream of celeriac soup with truffle oil sitting alongside chicken liver and foie gras parfait with red onion jam and rocket. There are five main courses available, the rolled leg of rabbit with braised baby gems, white bean, pancetta and wild garlic cassoulet is a good choice for meat eaters, whilst vegetarians can opt for risotto of caramelised onion, sun dried tomato and mascarpone with parmesan crackling for an indulgent dish.
The DrinkThe wine list is outstanding and the Pinocchio Rosato Sangiovese and Radford Dale Classic Chardonnay are perfect refreshing choices to accompnay food. In addition, you'll find classic cocktails and draught and bottled beers.
The Last WordThe Queens Arms offers excellent food with an international twist alongside an extensive wine list and combined with the relaxed atmosphere it makes it a great place for an evening out whether you're arranging an intimate meal for two or a catch up with friends.
