Food and Bloody Mary were absolutely disgusting! I am sure it is not a bad drinking hole but avoid for food! My prawns were actually off! I went to the Reliance with a friend on Saturday we went only because there was a queue at the American Diner and at the Breakfast Club – apparently these are both good but were filled with East London hipsters and I have no patience for “cool” places. Big mistake, we were both so hungry that we didn’t want to wait but should have. As I say it seems like a nice enough place to have a pint but food was f****g terrible and the Bloody Mary (which we saw being advertised as the best in East London) was the worst I have ever had. Definitely avoid if you want to eat. You have been warned

The Reliance is a great alternative to the pretentious bars in Hoxton. This lovely place is a stone throw away from Hoxton Square and a good place to meet friends and grab a quick bite to eat. Service is good, even on a busy Friday night! The staff are really friendly - the kind of people you wouldn't mind going for a drink with. Will definately go back again.

I went to The Reliance and can only describe the staff as disgracefully unpleasant. I was in a party of 8 people, including my girlfriend who received an important call and went outside to take it.

The Reliance door staff then refused to let her back in, claiming (untruthfully) to have told her there was no readmission.

I went to speak to them and explain that their odd decision (they were still letting other people in) would mean that everyone in the group would have to leave. Basically they told us where to go. Lovely.

After speaking to the manager of The Reliance and complaining we decided to leave and will never be going back. This place deserves to lose all its customers. I have never been confronted with such gratuitously unpleasant people running a business in my life. Avoid The Reliance at all costs.

Yep, The Reliance does an awesome Sunday roast. Actually the whole Sunday experience is great!! Good nighttime DJ's with a good selection of music. The staff are also really friendly and fast. It is nice to have a proper pub like The Reliance in this area of town - there's too many trendy places for my liking.
