Their Sunday roast beef dinner (£13) seems the best thing they do. My partner absolutely loves the dish - beautifully presented & everything on the plate (incl. Yorkshire pudding on top) is cooked to the perfection. Being vegetarian, my only Sunday main course option is risotto (£9.50) which I'm a bit bored of now, however the rice is always cooked perfectly, not even overcooked by a minute. I admire the chef for this so much.

As I said above, I was bored of risotto so I had a starter (baked aubergine with goats cheese) and a bowl of fries instead. Again beautifully cooked but the dish was designed as a starter, it didn't quite fill me up in the right way.

They have a great selection of wines - my partner is a great Rose lover, and red or white myself. We've tried quite a few different ones by glass & none of them disappointed us. They do a selection of cocktails as well. Their Bloody Mary is popular, while I like Martinis & I feel it'd be nice if they could chill the glass.

The place is very popular, the back garden seats are always packed in the summer. For Sunday lunch we try to get there by 12:30pm as it gets busy pretty quickly. Not cheap, but their food is a money-worth.

The Roebuck's quite a nice little place for an evening meal if you're in the area. We had some good food in there a few weeks ago and everyone seemed pretty friendly.

It was a fairly relaxed atmosphere, which I prefer, and the staff were chatty but still efficient. I've been to worse places than the Roebuck.

It got me hideously drunk, supplied my eyes with fitties and enabled me to completely forget that I saw my girlfriend kissing some other guy when I turned up unexpectedly.
