The main attraction of The Rose for me is the view. Rarely in London do you get the chance to enjoy a pint whilst taking in some scenery, yet this is exactly what The Rose offers as it overlooks the Houses of Parliament and the Tate Gallery. Only 5 minutes from the tube station, well worth a swift visit after work or a longer session at the weekend.

Had snacks and a drink on Wednesday night and loved the pub and atmosphere, however, the mandatory rather than 'discretionary' service charge doesn't sit well with me as the bill arrived with no breakdown. Usually I would like to tip in cash as the servers then don't get taxed on it but this way I'm not sure how much they get. Couldn't get through on the phone today either!

It's very convenient for me to go The Rose! The Rose is close to work, has a nice view, reasonabley priced food during lunchtimes and a very nice crowd on Thursdays and Fridays nights.

I used to enjoy a nice pint of Star on a Friday night at The Rose but it must have changed hands recently. The service has deteriorated markedly, with long waits to be expected regardless of the number of people waiting at the bar. The beer quality is now so eye-wateringly dire that the last few pints I sank there ate their way through my shoes when I spat it out.


I don't even want to mention the poor value for money, food quality or pavement/road terrace debacle that now signifies the Rose in my once benevolent and trusting mind.

I quite like The Roses atmosphere, but I didn't think much of their beer selection. The food was alright, but all in all I didn't feel that The Rose was much cop.

The view from The Rose is pretty amazing when you consider that many London restaurants give you the toilets or the kitchen to look at while you eat. I wouldn't come here all the time as it's not the kind of food I like to eat too often, but The Rose is a nice place with friendly staff and a good vibe.
