We went here last night and were unimpressed. We ordered an antipasti platter to start and then had lamb/fish for mains, which together with two small glasses of wine came out at £50 (including a 12.5% tip, which was added to the bill before we'd even eaten!). A summary of the issues as follows:

Having waited just over 20 minutes, the antipasti platter arrived with the mains.

The platter contained a selection of salami/chorizo/prosciutto (probably purchased from Tescos around the corner), some breadsticks and some poor quality mozzarella.

The main courses were OK, on the small side and certainly not worth £15 per dish. Suspect that management would prefer for you to order sides to supplement the small portion.

Overall, not what we were hoping for or expected after the recent refurb and new management.

Just had Sunday lunch here - first time I've been since before the refurbishment a couple of months ago. Wow! The food was fantastic, as was the wine. The atmosphere was buzzy and grown up, and despite us being a single parent and child amongst a large number of family and friends groups, we felt very comfortable with the Sunday papers on hand and quick service keeping the enjoyment up.....the portions were perfect, for my 9yr old, who had the child's roast and for me...the roast chicken was delicious, perfect roast potatoes, and delicious gravy....sadly I was too full for a pudding but I will be back (probably time and time again....as this knocks the socks off other local eateries)

The pub is under new ownership and management. It's had a total refurb and opened in July 2011. We had a 3 course dinner. All delicious, the goats cheese panacotta starter and Banoffee Pie for pudding were the highlights for me. A good range of wines including very palatable pudding wine. The staff were efficient and friendly and knew their stuff. We really liked the decor and thought the place had a great relaxed atmosphere. We will be going back.
