I love this pub. Relaxed, comfy, spacious and a good range of beers. Come on a Thursday or Friday evening if you want it buzzing, full of local wage slaves. Or come on a Saturday or Sunday lunchtime if you'd rather a bit of peace and quiet to read the paper. There's an event space downstairs for gigs, and its on a quiet street so spill on outside for drinking in the summertime. I've even had the fish and chips and thought it was delicious!

If we'd had the option we would have given this place 0/5. Yesterday I was faced with quite possibly the worst plate of "fish, chips and peas" (and I use those words loosely) that I have ever had the misery to see. Rock solid peas, cold chips, under cooked fish. When I returned it to the bar the "charming" (again used loosely) barman said "what do you want me to do about it?" and then went on to suggest that I could write a review. I said I would be happy to, and that in addition he could inform the chef that it was a plate of disgusting food and give me my £8 back.

You'd get cheaper and better cooked food, not to mention service at a weatherspoons. Give this place a miss.

This isn't even a review of the pub. You have missed the point of this website and now you leave people like myself still wondering what the place is actually like. Just because you had a bad experience with 1 member of staff and the chef does not mean you can neglect your duties as a review and focus only on that.

I mean every pub, including your precious Wetherspoons has bad days, bad staff and bad food from time to time. That doesn't mean it's a bad place. If Gordon Ramsey cooked you a spaghetti bolognese and it, for whatever reason, was shit you would then say 'Gordon Ramsey, yeah, I know him, can't cook worth a damn' you'd most likely say 'Gordon Ramsey's not perfect'

So, I would like to take an action to dismiss you useless review on the basis that you reviewed nothing but a moment in time.

You clearly have a penchant for stale lager and smelly old men who enjoy starting their sessions at 9 in the morning. Weatherspoons. Meh!
