The Slug & Lettuce is brilliant. On a Friday and a Saturday night it gets completely full and it's like going to a club but better. There's a lot of New Zealanders and Aussies in Fulham, so the music is really good with some Aussie themes and incredibly loud - think Reef, Bon Jovi, Outkast, good vintage tunes, and for a certain tune the bar staff get up on the bar and take off their tops. and the barmen are pretty hot.
The staff serve you really quickly and there are always interesting people in there, a lot of them fit surfer types.
They've just redone all the interior so it's really well-lit. Upstairs is less of a party area now as it has a carpet, but its got chairs, pool table etc. so, if having a wicked time trying to dance in the packed bit downstairs isn't your thing, you can sit upstairs, where it is still really throbbing. Drinks arent too pricey, but they're not cheap.
Can't emphasize how great it is, the bouncers are polite and not at all pushy, and it's in a great location for going on somewhere afterwards, like the Kings Road or Purple which is about a two minute walk (or drunken stagger) away. It's really just a huge party in there on the weekends. Think the atmosphere of Coyote Ugly mixed with a beach party. Go. You'll really appreciate it if you do.
