the worst place to be i hope the boss go there and see what is going on there.
I have been to the Sports Cafe on a Tuesday and my and my friends' first impression was a little bit like this: oh, yeah, many men, looks a little bit dirty but lets see. And, after half an hour, it was like this: Wow, very very cute English men, quite crazy atmosphere and music that was okay. And you get a beer for £1. Have a look!
I've visited Sports Cafe on different occassions, watching football and drinking on Saturday evenings. It is very difficult to find seats for both occassions unless you are dining or going there before 7pm. The decor is simple and American themed. Most of the time they have large groups of people (i.e. American students and tours) packing the place after 10pm.
The music is very generic from RnB to old skool. The dance floor is quite spacious downstairs but basic. However, if you are after a simple and not glamourous Saturday night then Sports Cafe is your place. Drinks are okay priced.
I think the music should start earlier and the sexy boys shouldn't arrive too late. Another problem is the cloakroom organisation, which is just awful. I've never seen before such messing around if you want to get your coat and bag. However, Sports Cafe has great decoration, atmosphere and music. Not to forget the crazy dancing competitions.
Just to get an idea of what Sports Cafe is like, go there on Monday for a cheap night out and meet some different people.
Sports Cafe has cheap drinks (and not the good kind), and dirty boys. Go there if you want to be groped. It is also extremely smoke filled. Do not go to Sports Cafe.
I often go to Sports Cafe, as I think the themed nights they do are brilliant, especially the Wings on a Thursday. It is a great place to watch sport, they show all major events, and enjoy a pint. Then after the coverage the DJ and music provides addded entertainment at Sports Cafe.
Avoid Sport Cafe like the plague. They should remove the word 'sports' from their name because sports lovers do not want ear-splitting music and a DJ during the broadcasts. Is it too much to ask to be able to hear the person next to you? The drinks are overpriced and they give you change on a plate as if we tip bar staff in England.
I found the Sports Cafe staff thick and the venue had an uncomfortable vibe, full of yobs who forgivably thought it was just another chav bar. Going to a sports bar on holiday in America is a great experience. This was dreadful.
Sports Cafe was just awful. Never go there, it ruined my day.
