It looks like a traditional pub from the outside, but within is found contemporary decor, including a fireplace open from two sides and numerous basket-like woven sculptures. The restaurant seating is at the back, and the menu mirrors typical pub fare - although with a gourmet twist, and this includes the upscale pricing. Nevertheless, the food tastes quite OK and the place seems to always be packed. Especially at the front, where the drink is served.

The tiny frontage of Ye Old Spotted Horse is deceptive as this place is pretty large although it can get pretty full. Young's serve up all their range here (after all, they're only round the corner) and complement it with an extensive food offering. I found the service to be prompt and friendly and Ye Old Spotted Horse is great for watching big sports' matches on the TV. Tourists love it, it looks just like an olde English pub, beer drinkers like it for the well kept Young's range and everyone likes Ye Old Spotted Horse in summer for the air con!
