The ViewLondon Review
The Teddington Arms is a charming pub that pushes the boundaries with unique customer-driving ideas. Yummy Mummies club, anyone?
The Venue
The Teddington Arms is a beautifully put together pub. Spread across several areas, the decor is what you’d expect to find in a cool East London bar with a pretty but modern floral wallpaper, a funky mix of trendy stools, blue and purple sofa-style seating and simple wooden tables and chairs, metallic animal heads hanging from the walls and plenty of spotlights and modern lamps. It’s the kind of eclectic decor that you can’t describe in just one paragraph and you’ll keep noticing little additional touches every time you go back.
The Atmosphere
The Teddington Arms attracts a lot of locals – as many venues in the area do – but they don’t rest on their laurels. Instead they try to pull in the punters by offering entertainment like quiz nights, live entertainment on Sundays and their Yummy Mummy club, every Wednesday from 12pm-3pm, complete with a kid’s play area.
The Drink
The Teddington Arms offers an excellent selection of wine, covering white, red, pink and sparkling varieties from a variety of grapes and regions. These start at just £15.75 a bottle, with many available by the glass, carafe or full bottle - a nice touch. They also have a selection of standard high street lagers bolstered by a good selection of bottles and a choice of local or regional beers and ales.
The Last Word
A pretty pub with some innovative entertainment ideas, it's refreshing to see The Teddington Arms hasn’t gone for style over substance
