Tried this place a couple of times.
Great food - well cooked and great service.
Really enjoyed my evening here - well worth a visit.
Now under new management, I had a great evening here. The food was excellent and well priced, the atmosphere was great, really buzzing. Definitely worth giving it a try.
I was told there was going to be live music but when I got there it turned out to be empty promises -shame because it would have been the only thing positive in this review. This is undoubtedly the worst restaurant I've ever been to. Shoddy food, unbelievably bad service at an all ridiculous price. And as for the atmosphere, no character and completely lifeless. Avoid this restaurant at no cost seeming as you'll be saving yourself a big waste of time and money!
Sloooooow service, micro portions, smelly upholstery, bland decor, crooked pictures and no wafer thin mints. Tim haig either had the day off or if he's sensible he's now cooking somewhere else.
Slow service, average food in less than generous portions. And the kitchen looked well dirty. Avoid.
Two words! Utter chops! We were there for over 2 hours and I'm still starving!
The Trading House has a nice and simple menu. The express menu option didn't work. In fact it took longer than the conventional menu option taken by our neighbouring table! For such a small restaurant smoking should be banned. My pregnant friend was not especially amused.
The fish, chips and caper sauce at The Trading House was the best I'd ever tasted though! Overall worth it, with really friendly service.
I’m not one for name dropping but the wonderful Tim Haigh is the chef at The Trading House and I love him, he makes sweet love to my tongue whenever I can afford it. He doesn’t come cheap!
His Risotto Nero with grilled Squid and Orange Gremolata makes The Trading House well worth a visit.
