On Saturday night I met up with a friend straight off the Heathrow Express at the Union. It was very empty but we were ignored when we stood at the bar. When we attempted to get someone's attention a guy said 'I'm not working here but what would you like?' He seemed to know the till and was behind the bar. We ordered two beers and some food, and paid for it. After a considerable wait we enquired if our food was coming. The order hadn't been put through. It only required placing the order literally feet away at the open kitchen. There was no apology, in fact the member of staff was incredibly off hand and didn't seem to care whatsoever. I asked to see the manager who duly appeared. He offered to put the order through, but by then we asked for a refund and left. He didn't appear too fussed either. I have always had a good time when I have been there before and couldn't believe how nonchalant and bordering on downright rude the staff were. It's a large venue, and there was hardly anyone there. I will not be returning, and it wasn't a great introduction to London for my friend. Disgraceful. Avoid.

I've been going to The Union since it first opened and have usually enjoyed each experience.

But I am worried that they are over extending themselves: there seem to be more and more tables crammed in, presumably to maximise the number of "covers" they can serve. So, lots of covers but not enough kitchen capacity or waiting staff to cope with the demand. Net result, expect to be kept waiting for up to an hour to get a sniff of your meal.

A pity they cannot be satisfied with with what they had. Is it greed? Probably. Competition in Sheldon Square has increased, which may explain things.

Terrible Service, food average and over an hour to wait for it. Servers are no where to be found and complaining to management serves no purpose as they are rude and arrogant. You certainly get what you pay for at this establishment. Avoid it at all costs!

Good atmosphere, especially good for after work drinks and the cosmos are to die for!
The food is also good, they do great seafood specials, have the best chips in London and the chicken burger and chips is excellent.
Overall, good pub grub and a little bit beyond that.

The Union has gorgeous decor and lovely views with full length windows. If you can get a window seat in the summer then your evening will be even better. I love the industrial edge to it and there's a really nice atmosphere in the place too. A trip to The Union is definitely worth it.

Was at The Union there on saturday night and had a fantastic meal. I had the pan fried Cod and my girlfriend had the whole roasted Bream. As you can see we are seafood lovers and these were as good as it gets.

Will be back to The Union for my office christmas party and can't wait to sample some of the delights off this menu.

The Union is a fantastic example of what a Gastro Pub should be. I went on Sunday with a group of friends after a hectic Saturday night and spent the most relaxing time drinking and eating all afternoon.

We had a great meal. My rabbit braised in cider and cream was awesome and the roast my friends had looked great. Apparently, it tasted just as good. Will definitely try that next time.

The service at The Union was the right mix of chilled and fun yet efficient at the same time. My friends and I will definitely be going back to eat at The Union again. I can fully recommend it to anyone.
