A visit to the Wargrave Arms pub provided me with a couple of firsts - it's the first pub I've been to which has a resident chess team (complete with their own noticeboard) and it's probably the first I've seen which sells bottles of mustard over the counter (God knows why). Attentive staff serve cheap, well kept Young's beer to a mixed clientele, and the atmosphere is good as well. What with the Wargrave Arms and the Windsor Castle across the road, this area is well worth a visit for a few swift halves whilst escaping the Oxford Street crowds.
