We recently hired the downstairs bar in the well for an after-wedding party. We're really glad we chose this venue for our party. All the staff were fantastic and we were really impressed at the level of service all through the planning process. The dedicated events organisers were helpful, informative and well organised, and every person we came in to contact with was similarly professional. Every time we made contact with The Well ahead of the event, the staff all knew about our party and were incredibly helpful. We had about 45 people in the downstairs area which filled it nicely without being too crowded. A small downside was the fact that upstairs patrons had to go through our party to access the toilets, but this didn't end up posing a major problem. The food was excellent quality, the ambience was lovely, we were able to bring our own iPod to play music, and it was great having the dedicated bar to ourselves.

Organised a work pub quiz downstairs at The Well. The night was a great success! It was such a pleasure working with the events management team to get it all planned, and the food and service on the night was excellent as well. Would definitely recommend and will hold the same event there next year for sure.

Hired the downstairs area for 30th birthday and it was perfect for informal gathering with friends, private bar, enough room to dance and nice toilets! We bought along a laptop with music and the staff were brilliant in ensuring we were happy, the music was loud enough and there were no randoms trying to join the party...

It's a lovely space with no hire fee, license till 1am and a reasonable minimal spend behind bar which includes food, so is easily reached.

Would not hesitate in hiring again or recommending to a friend.

We had our civil partnership celebration at The Well on 4th Feb and the staff made it such a magnificent day for us. We enjoyed canapes, a two course meal and platters of food throughout the day and the guests all said that the standard of the food was just fantastic. The service provided by all members of staff was second to none and cannot be faulted. We were lucky enough to be one of the first to enjoy the new makeover and the place was perfect - it is such a good spot for any party an we'll be booking again soon for a birthday party. We would recommend The Well to anyone without reservation - a huge thank you to Nadia and the team who are simply FABULOUS!

Booked the downstairs bar for my 30th Birthday and had a brilliant time! I didn't want anything too formal, just a space to drink a few cocktails and have a dance and it was perfect (esp as there was no hire charge). I ordered some platters of food which went down really well with my friends and we got our own bartender and private bar! Highly recommended!

Don't use this place for private parties.
Halloween weekend... Saturday night... Bar staff kept turning our music down to elevator music level.
I must have spent over £100 at the bar too.
Avoid!

Had my 40th birthday party there on Saturday (I also had my 30th there which was great too). It's stood the test of time well. Great venue, nice atmosphere with candles etc. Sound system good - was worried music wouldn't be loud enough but worked really well with my IPod and meticulously compiled playlist. Food and canapes were great - so many people complimented me on the night and even today I've had people raving about the mini Yorkshire puddings and chillies stuffed with cheese. Staff were great on the day (and in run up to event) very flexible, accommodating and professional. Highly recommended for birthday/private party.

I just had my 40th birthday party here on saturday night. I though the venue and the staff were brilliant. There were no problems whatsoever and everyone was so helpful. The venue looked really stylist - great lighting, far better than the pics on the website. And even though the capacity is 70 it still feel really intimate and cosy with lots of corners to sits in etc....I totally recommend this place as a party venue, had a great night, thanks!

I held my 40th Birthday Party at The Well in Clerkenwell on Saturday and had a great time! Easy to organise, helpful planning, and an excellent sound system which made my IPod playlist sound really professional. We had a lovely meal upstairs followed by a private party downstairs. There was a funky atmosphere, delicious food and fabulous staff! What more could you want; I definitely recommend it! Thanks guys!

Booked the downstairs bar for my boyfriend's 35th birthday and had an absolute blast. The staff were fantastic, really accommodating and friendly, and excellent cocktail makers. The bar itself is great with lots of places to sit and some really funky fish-tanks. Looks completely different to the main bar upstairs! The best thing about booking the bar downstairs is that you get your own barman. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun yet chilled venue for a party. Top notch!

One of my friends had their birthday bash in the cocktail lounge last week at The Well. It was really funky and I was surprised I didnt know the downstairs area looked so different to upstairs. Theres cool aquariums in the walls and my mate said it was quite cheap to hire for a private party with your own personal bar. Will be thinking about it for my birthday.

My boyfriend took me toThe Well a couple of weeks ago- my first time there. I really liked it. I had the crayfish tails to start, which tasted super fresh and the seabream as main- yum!! My boyfriend had the quail and the rib eye, which he loved! We will soon be back!

Group of us went to The Well last week and had a good night. Atmosphere's fairly chilled (which I prefer) and it doesn't get too crowded in there.

Staff are pretty chatty and make you feel welcome. Not too pricey either. Give The Well a look if you're in the area.
