I have just got back from lunch at the Windmill and feel so strongly that I want to write a review straight away.
Firstly, the food is amazing, the pies are definitely some of the best I've ever had, a full 5 stars for the food.
Unfortunately they are completely let down by their service. Every single member of staff that we came across was very abrupt and incredibly, unashamedly rude. This isn't the first time I've experienced this there either.
There was a group of 10 of us (I appreciate that it's Christmas and they were very busy but I'm afraid I'm of the belief that that is no excuse for poor service) and all of us were completely shocked and appalled by how rude the staff are! We encountered 3 staff members, whilst we were there and all 3 of them were rude, grumpy and unfriendly. A shame as the food is so so good but, I won't be going back as I don't ever want to be treated like that again!

Didn't see the stars and now can't edit them - definitely doesn't deserve 3!

I have traveled the all over the world and the Champion Steak & Kidney pie at the Windmill was the best I have ever had. I would recomend this dish to anyone who is visiting the Windmill. Get there early though as they can run out of pies.

In my experience this can be that rarest of beasts, the good West End pub. Close to Regent Street yet off the tourist radar, the Windmill was even low on suits on my last visit there. Smallish main bar, with a downstairs lounge and upstairs restaurant. Young's on tap and (award winning) meat pies on the menu. Windmill is one worth hunting down.
