Good location but the food was average.
The temperature in the pub was frankly cold and despite asking if we could have some heat turned on, the request was ignored, radiators remained off.
We sat throughout the meal in our jackets and scarves as it was a cold November day.
I wont be going back.
I happened upon the yacht earlier this evening with my wife and 2 young children, just looking for an early dinner, not wanting anything too special, just some standard pub grub.
Sadly the very simple menu proved too much for the cook.
I'm not sure how it is possible to serve a gammon steak where half is cooked and the other half completely raw but I imagine it takes minutes of training to achieve such incompetence.
I returned the dish to the bar and waited 15 minutes for a replacement. I assumed the time taken was due to proper attention being paid to cooking a fresh piece of gammon however, the same piece was returned, very well cooked, but still on the same plate with the same chips, 1/2 a fried egg, mushroom & tomato which were now all stone cold.
The bar maid returned and apologised to me for not being given a freshly cooked meal but said that even though she had told the "chef" that he had served raw meat and should cook a fresh meal he just refused. She even offered me a drink to apologise for the chefs attitude.
Incompetence coupled with arrogance, lack of pride and bad attitude are much sought after traits in a chef, i'm sure he will go far.
The fact that we were given the wrong starter initially and having to wait another 10 minutes for the right one, and that I could count the amount of beans on 2 hands on my kids jacket potato with beans and cheese were annoying but not enough to bother me too much as we had had such a nice day out in Greenwich.
Being given undercooked meat happens sometimes and doesn't bother me much either but gross incompetence and arrogance do.
Needless to say we shall not be returning, and what a shame as it's such a waste of a great location.

The Yacht is in a fantastic location - but the staff were surly and we had to wait 45 minutes for expensive food which was lukewarm when it arrived. Whilst we were waiting at least four customers got fed up waiting to be acknowledged at the bar and walked out.
I'm so angry that I joined this View London as soon as possible to warn people away from The Yacht.
The Yacht is a wonderul little place nestled nicely next to the Thames. With wonderful panoraminc views, and friendly staff I would recommend this pub to young and old alike. If you want a more untradititional pub, ie- Wine bar, do not bother coming here.
The food is something I have not tried so I shall not comment. However, judging a pub on a meal and a possible rude member of staff seems rather pointless.
The Yacht is awful! The first time I went here I ordered fish & chips but we were told that they didn't have any chips so I tried to order a jacket potato but apparently they didn't have any potatoes. So then I chose chicken...guess what? They didn't have any chicken! I asked them if they had any food at all, they only had sandwiches that day!
A couple of months later I stupidly decided to give The Yacht a second chance but I wish I hadn't. I was with a friend, she ordered scampi and I choose pasta. Her meal came, she ate all of her meal and I was still waiting for mine, nearly an hour later. We asked why my meal was taking so long and the guy said, "oh, we haven't got any pasta!" I was so livid. I wasted my whole lunch hour in this place. I demanded a refund and the barman reluctantly gave me the money and said "yeah, yeah, we are busy you know".
Please take my advice, never, ever waste your time visiting this pub! They don't have any food and customer service...what customer service?
Stumbled across this pub by chance, great selection of real ales that seem to be well looked after (more than you can say for some places), lovely views of the river and a friendly atmosphere. Landlord was an entertaining and welcoming character. Would recommend this place for a quiet drink or an evening out.
the Yacht is such a disappointment. I'd like to second the previous comment about staff. The same landlady seems to be there. She was diabolically rude when I brought it to her attention that her quiz machine wasn't working, adopting a very curt 'not my problem' stance. My friends and I will never ever, ever go there again. Ever. At all.
This place (The Yacht) is terrible, the rudest staff on earth and ugly with it. We returned some flat drinks and got a load of abuse from the barmaid and the manager, then they threw us out for complaining. The barmaid mixed up some drinks she was serving and was tasting them to see which was which. Dreadful, avoid at all cost.
