I lived in this pub for a couple of years with Kevin & Andrew & two Great Danes & a Jack Russell (K & A are both not with us any more) just as Murdoch moved in across the way! up until '87, when i left to have my baby -Although I haven't been up recently, everytime i did pop in, I was made to feel welocme. The guys who ran the pup at the time were so welcoming, even though they didn't know me or my history with the pub.The pub has something about it that makes you love it. It was never a pub that drew in trouble.The locals were top, the local Policemen were fantastic. (and even though it was Charringtons !) our beer was kept fantastically and so was our food. It hadn't changed the past 7 times i have visited.
I hope the locals still go there and that The Town is still as good as it ever was. I would say to any visitor to London, go and visit a real pub. I don't know how it has changed- someone go and have a look and report back!

The Town of Ramsgate is a very old attractive pub with friendly staff and decent beer. Sunday roast at the Town of Ramsgate is very good too if you like that sort of thing! Nice (but small) beer garden which backs onto Thames- great if you can get a seat. Well worth a visit.
