I just moved to the area few weeks ago and having been trying out a restaurants..Tulsi was one of them, and made a really good impression compared to the rest. My waiter was really friendly to both me and my friend, even when we asked for a doggy bag to take the rest of the food home (usually waiters get a bit funny about that). I had the Special Thali, and although it took a bit longer than expected, it was worth the wait. Plus dessert sweets were really good! I liked the chilled atmosphere of the place too, made you feel like you could be yourself. Definitely taking more friends there.

This is the worst service I've ever seen in London. We 3 people went for Lunch and it was around 1.40 PM (August '08). Though they claimed that there is a buffet service (We paid £6.50 which is premium rate for this appalling service), nothing was there in the buffet counter and it was empty. When I asked they told me that Buffet is available nothing is there in buffet counter. They promised that they'll do table service. The service was totally disgusting. We ordered for Poori and it took ages to come. Curries were OK. When my friend and my wife re ordered for Puri, they gave a weird look back and it took almost 15-20 minutes to get that. Then we there is literally no one to ask what you want though there wer2 hardly 2-3 tables were filled. Even after requesting again and again to refill our curries, no body returned back. My Wife and I were exhausted and called the Manager and blasted him. Here comes the interesting part. The Manager does not even know to attend the Customer. We complained that we were served just one small bowl of rice (for 3 people) and even after requesting again we did not get back. He said it is their tradition to serve just one bowl and if we request we'll get additional bowls. We were appalled by his explanations. He cam back with 2 bowls and said that he discussed with his waiters and they told him that they were serving well. I asked him "Do you think we are lying or what?".Please avoid this overrated over hyped restaurant (My friends were singing laurels about this restaurant). The worst part was that the rice they served in bowls was stale one and they just reheated in oven and serving it (That's why it took so much time). If you don't believe my words, Before you enter , please have a peep and look how many people are there. We went on Saturday afternoon 1.40 PM and I could see hardly any tables filled with people (1-2). My intuition warned me and did not listen to that.

You do not know anything about indian cuisines. Tulsi is an excellent vegetarian cuisine producing a variety of dishes. it has three floors and three bars and the waiters are very easy going and quick. you can talk to them about anything they want, ANYTHING. I recommend Tulsi as the hip hop place to be to eat EVERY SINGLE DAY OF YOUR LIFE for breakfast lunch and dinner and if you dont eat it your just eating **** from tescos.

I would definitely and very strongly reject the comments put by the anonymous .

My wife and I go to Tulsi every other week and the main reason for going there is the way they cook the food - simple and great tasting.

Mr Anonymous did not have the stomach to put his details and uttered nothing but Bull**** in his review.

You do not have to count tables to review a restaurant. Maybe they served everyone so well that they were done in a short time.

We have never had to wait for more then 20 mins for food to be served.

May I recommend the faluda when you are there but that will mean you eat a little less of the thali buffet to keep some space for faluda :)

I agree with the comments. Sounds like the positive comments come from people who are associated with the restaurant.

I went on Sunday 16th August 2010.

Ordered crispy bhajia , stuffed Nan and Thali.

Chapatti was very poor and most vegetables were probably made the day before. Crispy bhajias were not edible, oily and tasteless.

I remain negative and will not recommend this restaurant. Await friends of this restaurant to comment back. Probably the poor workers who definitely could not serve and recent students from gujarat doing their weekend job are eating there every week.

complained at the checkout and the manager was only interested in my money.

£6.50 for a thali with carrot halva unedible you are having a laugh
