Various venues
Weren’t lucky enough to blag an invite to Elton John’s White Tie and Tiara Ball this year? If you want a little taste of the most exclusive party of the year then the Warhol cocktail at London bars is worth a try. The bespoke cocktail was created especially by Grey Goose for the Rocket Man and is now on offer for us mere mortals to try for a limited time only.
Where To Go
Unsurprisingly, if you’re looking to try Warhol cocktails at London bars, you’ll need to be selective about where you go. The new ‘It’ drink may be on sale to members of the general public but it is still an exclusive cocktail dahling. The Wahol-inspired cocktail is available at four of London’s more upmarket cocktail bars: Refuel at The Soho Hotel, Oscar at Charlotte Street Hotel, Brumus Bar at Haymarket Hotel and Brasserie Max at The Covent Garden Hotel.
Charitable Donation
If £15 for a cocktail seems a little steep, especially when the country is in the midst of a recession, then you can make yourself feel a little better about splashing out on the Warhol cocktail at London bars. For every drink sold, a massive £5 goes to Elton John’s AIDS foundation, which was set up to support HIV prevention programs, eliminate discrimination associated with HIV and AIDS, and offer care and support services for people living with the disease. If you’re finding it difficult to find spare pennies to give to charity at the moment then at least this way you can enjoy an exclusive drink in nice surroundings whilst supporting an important cause.
So What’s In A Warhol Cocktail, Anyway?
This year, Elton’s White Tie and Tiara ball had a contemporary art theme. To fit in with this the Warhol cocktail is served in a Grey Goose Campbell’s soup can. Cute. But what exactly can you expect from the Warhol cocktail at London bars? Well, it’s a mixture is Grey Goose citron vodka, half a lime, 15ml of green elderflower cordial, muddled and topped with Kopparberg pear cider – a refreshing blend.
The Warhol cocktail at London bars is available until 9th August 2009 at selected bars. The price of the cocktail is £15 with £5 going to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
