What a top pub! Popped in to watch the game last night with my girlfriend. The manager and staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful - the Manager even moved a group of lads to another room so we could relax together. I was on the Pride, my girlfriend red wine - both served amazingly. The manager even showed us his cellar during half time - full of cool pictures and really nice to see how the ale gets into my glass!

Been living in London for ten years and I've NEVER come across such welcoming, friendly staff. Will sure to return for more football games and probably a romantic meal when there's no games on - this pub has everything you could possibly need!

We visited on a Thursday evening. It was pouring down with rain outside and we found a good spot to sit in the Whistle and flute while waiting for the rain to stop. As it turned out, we stayed there the whole evening. John, the manager, was extremely friendly and chatty; he created such a good vibe in the pub, both amongst the staff and customers.

They had a good range of beers, just as you expect a fuller’s pub to have, including London pride, Honey Dew and bottled ESB. The wine list included a great selection of worldly reds, whites and rosés. I didn’t know what I wanted but John suggested a red and gave me a little sample, a nice little gesture and on top of all the wine, A4 Anta Banderas, was amazing!

We sat down at a high table on the side of the bar, the pub was pretty busy but we got fantastic service at the table. The menu was rather short but had a good selection of sandwiches, mains and sharing platters. We had the Whistle platter and the calamari. The presentation was nice and both dishes were really tasty, especially the calamari which was extremely fresh- just as you get it in the Mediterranean.

The rain stopped but we had settled in the pub so we ended up staying there the whole evening. Had a great time and will definitely go back to The Whistle and Flute on Putney High street. Thank you John and all his staff for a fab evening!

Popped in here last Saturday for a post rugby-at-Twickenham pint and had no complaints about the place. Staff were friendly, the place was lively and the music was not too distracting from our conversations.
