Very friendly pub with old fashioned quaint decor. I had a Nicholson breakfast there and the price was cheap at £7 including tea (the portion size was very sufficient).

Very relaxing and comfortable place to eat, and staff was very courteous. Will definitely visit again.

Covent Garden has a plethora of places eager to exchange their beer or food in return for your money. Some are good, some not so good - it depends what you define as good, and for me, what I get for my money has a bearing on that. If you're after the glitzy, shiny themed bars or eateries and don't mind paying the prices that go with them to consume some unknown lager and a folded lettuce leaf whilst being surrounded by tourists or poseurs, then the White Lion may not be for you.

If, on the other hand, you like the taste of good beer and good "real" food and think it all tastes that little bit better when it's brought to you by amiable staff and at a reasonable price, then the White Lion certainly is for you. In particular I'd try the food served upstairs, which is unpretentious but well presented and very tasty, fills you as it's supposed to, and doesn't cost the earth by any means. I'd recommend eating there, followed by a choice from the well kept ales and a relaxing bit of people-watching from this ideal location next to the Tube. Overall, the impression is that the White Lion shows is run by somebody who knows and cares about what they're doing and that helps to makes the place a real gem surrounded by places where REAL gems can be hard to find.

I have been visiting London for the past 15 years, and have spent many a night at the White Lion. It is a good pub to meet before/after a night at the theatre. The staff are always very friendly and despite what many would assume- it does not attract too many tourists. I would recommend everyone to stop in and have a pint if they can. Overall, the White Lion is a nice, fun pub.
