A busy first port of call for nights out in Camden; Worlds End is, in a word, vast.

The Venue
Worlds End is conveniently located just opposite Camden Tube station. The building itself is a little worn around the edges but is alive with plenty of character. It enjoys a large capacity, with a variety of bar areas dotted around and many hidden seating areas on different levels. Thanks to all this space it can cope with the huge number of punters who flock there at the weekends. The separate areas each have their own personalities and, depending on where you sit, you might have a different experience to where you were on a previous visit. This variety means that a trip to the Worlds End can be quite a surprising experience.

The Atmosphere
A loud, sociable hub, Worlds End is more a place for old friends to meet up rather than a place to find new ones. The bar is full of people starting a night out or having a drink before they get their last train home. The staff are efficient and do well to keep the queues down. The latest indie music tries to entice people to venture to the club below (Underworld) but only serves to drown out conversation. On match nights it does tend to get a little packed by those who have come to watch the game on the big projector screen, which is situated in the main bar area.

The Drink
Drinks are averagely priced and run of the mill. You won’t find anything you haven’t heard of before and it’s not exactly the place you’d go to if you were desperate for an expertly mixed martini. On the other hand, it’s exactly the place you’d go if you were gasping for a pint. Of which they sell record amounts.

The Last Word
Worlds End is a convenient meeting place for those who are new to Camden, but when Armageddon comes you better hope not to end up in The Underworld.
