one of my friends went out for the birthday dinner there, and just in the middle of the meal he found a plastic top from the bottle ....! in his curry...

restaurant manager did not bother to come up with an apology, though they took out that meal out of the bill....

the whole evening was ruined, the only thing my friend and his guests could talk about was that "accident"..

very disappointing..

what can you say about XO. it is simply fantastic. the thai/japanese/chinese fusion menu is superbly simple and satisfying, and the cocktails are great too. the ambience is perfect, and the service was excellent.

we had tom kha soup, with the betel leaf dim sum for starter - both sensational - and for main red chicken curry and tempura.

it is pricy for a mid-range restaurant - it rolled in at 80 quid for two - but we did have two cocktails each. however you will be happy to pay 30-40 a head.

we will definitely be back.

XO is simply stunning. It is quite a plush affair but it's really worth spending a little extra when the food and service is this good. I'm going to have to go back to XO though as I was spoiled for choice. Ideally I wanted a bite of everything!
