We went here for a friend's birthday last Friday and I was very disappointed overall. Thankfully he had made some sort of deal and we 'only' had to pay £15 instead of the frankly ludicrous £20 we were told. Drinks were averagely priced for the area but adding on a £2 'service charge' is unforgivable. You're not a fancy restaurant, you're a bar!
Everyone seemed absolutely mesmerised by the tacky bar/table with the touch-sensitive lights, personally I thought they would have been better off spending the money on a decent DJ - when I was there it seemed as though he was just playing random songs from his Ipod, such was the bizarre choice/order of songs and the non-existant mixing.
Extremely overrated, in all. Judging by the average rating I'm not the only person who thinks this. Four stars? You're having a laugh.
i have seen mixed reviews about this club! but what is it really like?? i was wonderin could anyone let me no what an average drink costed??? like a vodka and lemonade or a shot???
went on the night before easter it was very quite, half empty, i assume it wouldnt normally be like that. The music was very commercial and cheesy but fun night. Definately not a pretentious place i would very much doubt that celebs would go there. The interior is a little tacky for my liking but will prbbably go there again. I wouldnt pay to get in though.
Went to 24 on Sat was such a good night! The music was awesome! And had a really hip crowd! Definately recommend going!
I go to 24 often and always have a great time - the music is brilliant! we always stay till the end and just dance all night. If you enjoy a good dance 24 is your place cool venue with fab music.
I was down on NYE and thought it was wkd- luved that place- wanna go bac soon. the walls are amazing.
I go down on Fridays most weeks and think that the music is amazing and always stay till closing!! even though the drinks are a little expensive I always have the best time!
Used to be very cool as Attica, but now it is like every other open plan nightclub, tacky and cheap.
The doorguy is very rude and pretentious for such a bog standard venue.
CRAP
I didn't actually go here but my mate did for NYE and told me a funny tale.
After getting a free ticket he was given a REFUND of £40 by some crazy guy outside. Following this the rest of my mates told me the crowd was great as was the music but... they had no countdown. When asked why the DJ replied "the club won;t allow it!".
Not sure what that's about but there's some crazy stuff going on here, free money for all at 24!
This is one of those venues for town folks and essex crowd that think they are going somewhere special... There is definitely a market for that crowd, but it's a far cry from what this venue was like not so many years ago... the fit-out looks like the owner designed it himself... whoever did design it, has never done any design training... one word 'YUK' what were they thinking? seriously tacky!
the crowd was equally matched... we lasted 2 minutes then ran out the door...
Don't waste your time with this place... horrible!
I would like to say that dont bother...this is a small venue with bad service.. My friend put her coat along with her cardigan to the cloak and aftre a boring night and expensive! Night we were leaving and my friend didnt get her cardigan back!! We even had to pay of each item separately!! We told them to check where it it but the guy at the cloak started accusing my friend of not putting a cardigan there! How ever it was magically found on the floor by another staff person and we didnt even get apologies...Also the woman in the toilet is extremely rude to customers your almost scared to go in!
We went to an industry short film screening last night and have NEVER been more disgusted at the treatment we received at 24. I was assured up front that I could pay by American Express (industry event = Corporate Card = expenses = fun for all!)but could not set up a tab (???) and had to spend a minimum of £20 (Corporate Card = easy!). We were then charged £24 for two caprihinias (which were TERRIBLE, my 4 year old godson would have done a better job with his Toys R Us chemistry set) and a bottle of Star. Upon payment the card machine would not work. Nor did the next two. After standing around copping a whole heap of attitude from the "bar staff", I use this term extremely loosely, I am informed that in fact they did not accept American Express. After all this, and it took over ten minutes to reach this revelation, we were then told we'd have to find an alternative way to pay. We ended up leaving after consuming our low quality/high priced beverages paid for with a handful of rummaged change (we thought we were protected in the warm glow of the aforementioned Corporate Card) as we were all in such a foul mood at the shocking treatment of the bar staff.
Note to Bar 24 - do not employ bar staff if they a)don't understand basic business needs b)cannot actually make a fairly common cocktail c)have the charm of a two legged ox trying to plough a field in the dark (and I'm being kind here).
We will never return, Bar 24 can sit there and pretend they're too cool to care but there is a rude awakening coming their way! I don't think it'll be them having the last laugh. We'll stick to places that know what they're doing when we decide to spend horrendous amounts of money entertaining clients at industry events.
I have never in my life been met on the door by such pretentious people on the door. They were rude, aggressive and arrogant. I am in Public Relations and can honestly say that they left me with such a bad impression and the first people you speak to are the most important being the face of the club. When I got inside although the music was good there was little atmosphere and it was small with no dancefloor. I find it a waste of money and technology!
I came with a group of friends to this club, me and my group were on guest list! The club looked great from the outside and after queuing up for ages on a Saturday night, the bouncer looked at me and told me I was too young to enter the venue. I'm 25 and was on the guest list. He didn't want to look at my ID and told me I wasn't allowed in. After convincing the bouncer and girl on the door to look at my driver's licence they tried to tell me it wasn't me even though I had my credit cards to prove otherwise.
Right, where do I begin? After waiting for the door staff to learn how to read a guest list we headed down what seems to be quite an average corridor, thinking to myself, "It's got to get better". I open the door to a sea of, in my opinion, cheap and tacky white which would be okay if I were Jodie Marsh, but I'm not so after I refocused my eyes I headed to the bar.
I noticed a pretty projection pattern on the wall which had all the blondes in a daze for roughly an hour! Others were left dribbling over the sweaty dancer on a block! For a brief moment I thought I was in Stringfellows!
As if that wasn't enough my £3.40 glass of water, half empty, was taken away! and repeated with a £5.00 bottle of Peroni which is your basic half arsed brewed beer.
24 is without a doubt the worst bar/club I have ever been to, and if you don't believe me go and find out for yourselves.
Summed up, 24's nothing special. For all you students out there, guys should bring girls! If you're not on the guestlist come in a small group. If you are, then confirm the guest list on the night before you arrive. To be honest the club was okay and does have potential on the right night.
However, I've been to a lot of clubs and this one definitely does not have that wow factor. There was a lot of bouncers. They were cool with me but were uncompromising with a lot of others. As I've said, guys who are not on the guestlist should a)come early, b)dress smart and c)if you can, bring girls.
What an awful, pretentious place. Went to 24 last night for joint birthday celebrations and although the 17 year olds in front were let in, my group was refused entry. 5 well dressed ladies who obviously were too classy for such a messed up joint. Although guestlist was confirmed last Wednesday, apparently we were not on the list. What a joke. But the real laughing point is that the ladies on the door suggested they could put us on the list for Chinawhites or we could come back at 1am. Ludicrous!
Thankfully was on a guestlist for another club in Soho so got a taxi and had an awesome night. The ladies on the door (who were not so good looking themselves) did not seem so bright. So basically if you like partying with kids, 24 is your place, but believe me there are much better places in London.
I had the best night at 24! Free entry - the people we were with got us to skip all the queues - and the bouncers were cheeky and funny. The bright flashing lights inside are quite overwhelming at first! We had a table and I found the girls there a little distasteful, as were some of the guys. Some other clubs seem to have more friendly people.
But after getting a huge bottle of vodka, we ended up dancing on the tables laughing our heads off. Guys there will buy you drinks, and if you're lucky, you'll be treated like a princess!
Had a great Saturday night at 24 last week. We booked a few days in advance on the guest list as there were six of us, and had to get there fairly early (around 10.30pm) because it gets busy on the door after the pubs shut.
Entry price and drinks were a little lower than most West End clubs but still not cheap either. It was just warming up a bit when we got in but was really rocking after 45 mins. The place looks really cool, and has these wall to wall projections that are amazing, and change when you touch them.
24s music was good, and boasts a hip and sexy crowd. What more do you want?
I went to a Keds trainers launch at 24 a week or so ago, and it was rocking. Obviously the free champagne and cocktails helped but I also got the chance to meet Mischa Barton who was at the party. She was really friendly and I even had a brief chat with her.
The crowd that night was very fashion industry orientated but weren't up themselves. I met this gorgeous girl from Harpers magazine and we exchanged cards, which was nice. All told a brilliant night.
We hosted a private event at 24 on 5 March and though the venue was ideal for our new product launch, the management team are unbelievably amateurish and a nightmare to work with. It is a shame as the venue is very nice and a blank canvas - hence ideal for a corporate bash.
But don't be fooled by any sales patter if you visit the venue - make sure you get everything in writing. 24 are way too casual to really deserve any decent corporate business.
24 is truly a pretentious night club that is only interested in image conscience young people with more money than sense. It is a very non pc club that actually refused entry to a girl who they deemed overweight! Whatever next!
The girl on the door clearly has no other career as she conducted herself as a complete no-brainer, and the whole team that worked the door clearly have no concept of customer service ,let alone a smile. Do not allow yourself to go 24, London has more to offer than this.
Without doubt, 24 is the worst club I have ever been to. Despite organising a guestlist a week in advance, my invitees were kept waiting for two hours in the rain, whilst a couple of girls who had got in earlier due to the good grace of the leering door men were rudely kicked off our table when they said they didn't wish to buy a £150 bottle of vodka without the whole party there.
One attendee was charged over £200 for a vodka mixer due to a till error, and the waiting staff were rude and unhelpful. Some of the most aggressive people I have ever met also appeared to frequent 24 and the atmosphere was hostile. It was ridiculously pretentious, had bad music, hugely overpriced drinks, horriffic staff, and a nasty mix of aggressive males.
After having to pay £20.00 to get in straight away 24 didn't disapooint. The decor was nice and the music was different, there was a good mixture and most of it kept us on the dancefloor. The crowd was interesting with a good deal of pervs that seemd to ask rather private questions, but all in good humour.
We found most of the staff pleasant and the drink prices were reasonable. Overall it was a good night even though we didn't have a table, though my friends have been before and said that with a table it was a better experience. For the guys, the female talent at 24 is also good.
Went to 24 and had a great time. Even though we weren't on the guestlist me and my boyfriend managed to not only get in easily, but were actually ushered to the entrance, managing to jump the guestlist queue! Inside 24 is opulent, though perhaps the decor is a bit bright white for those who prefer dark brooding nightclubs.
The 24 clientele seemed truly decadent, ordering magnums of champagne, dancing on the seats and tables etc, but there were far too many girls in the place! The music was varied, ranging from RnB and hip hop to dance and even Nirvana! Be warned that the doormen are strict but if you go dressed up, act polite and accept that this is a true embodiment of the superficial London party scene, you'll have a great time.
24 London is absoulutely the worst, most disgusting, offensive club in central London. I took care to book the guest list and I waited in the queue with my friend for approximatively 1 hour 45 minutes. When I dared ask how long we still had to wait, the bouncer (a very ignorant person, with a brain, I suppose not of the size of a bean) answered me very roughly looking somewhere else. The girl at the door, a silly brunette maybe more ignorant than the bouncer, looked at us meanly saying, no trainers tonight.
I was wearing Prada shoes and my friend had Gucci's, and they were no trainers! And in the club we could see some young guys dressed in a horrible way wearing dirty trainers! This was crazy and we left offended. We hope that 24 London will close and these people lose a lot of money, becauset they don't deserve anything.
I was totally appalled with 24. I went there to celebrate my 24th birthday and was disgusted with how the door staff handled the guestlist. After receiving confirmation a month in advance that my guestlist for the night was confirmed, I was told on the night that it didn't exist and that their contact didn't work that night.
After telling some of my guests that I was not on the list, 24 then confirmed to me that my name was down but didn't bother to even look for any of my guests names!
The blonde, obnoxious woman at the door didn't have a clue what she was doing and decided to just push me aside! I can honestly say that my birthday night was ruined due to this incident and would warn anyone thinking about arranging a night out at this venue!
24 was crap. I went there for a friend's 30th Birthday party and I was chucked out for no good reason, then had to wait outside for about an hour before the redneck bouncers got my coat. I was told by the bouncers and management never to go there again. Frankly I wouldn't bother. They have no idea about handling people with dignity or respect.
24 was a truly pitiful experience and I wouldn't advise going there at all. It is a completely pretentious, rubbish venue run by morons.
24 is one of the worst places I've ever been in central London. The decor is a joke. It looks like an office with the Christmas lights up. Perhaps its a subtle homage to provincial clubs of the early 90s. Almost all the music dates from that period.
The cherry on the top is that 24 is full of Neanderthals who can't keep their hands to themselves. Don't put yourself through this.
