The visit was completely spoiled by the negative experience at an associated venue, the Chelsea Football Club conference facility.

Having taken an exhibition stand there, my company required the stand to be shipped back to us for onward carriage to Brussels for a major conference. In Brussels it became clear that Chelsea Football Club had in fact sent the wrong exhibit - apparently one of their own containing Chelsea sponsorship panels. This was, naturally, of no use to us. We were left with a blank space rather than an exhibition at an important European commercial event.

They refused to accept any responsibility for this error. They also declined to offer compensation, even in token form. All they were willing to do was pay for the cost of returning our own exhibit, which they had misplaced, from SW1 to our office in Surrey: £22.26.

This demonstrated a formidable indifference to good relations with customers, particularly smaller companies who can ill afford commercial loss of this nature.

An ill-considered action on the part of Chelsea Football Club has therefore simply generated resentment among part of its client base and exposed the Club and its allied operations to reputational damage.

Your restaurant is an allied operation, and for this reason the meal we had there was impossible to enjoy. Nor were the food or the service anything special at all.
