I went here a few weeks ago for a meal. the restaurant was nice and the staff friendly. We did feel it was a bit overpriced for what you got but we used the view card and got 50% off. The staff did try to tell us they wouldn't accept it but as we had rung ahead and booked we argued that we should be allowed and eventually they accepted it.

The wine was overpriced though and cost more than the meal itself.

Quietly hidden away on Abbeville Road this is my local pub.
It is nicely decorated and the regular staff are lovely. The manageress(?) is really nice and helpful, some of their waitresses and barmaids (usually the ones that don't speak great English) can be a bit hit and miss.
It really annoys me when they bring your food before your cutlery. Isn't it common sense to bring someone their cutlery as soon as they order?!
The food is good but a little overpriced. They have recently improved their Sunday roast as the portions used to be a bit measly but we went just last Sunday and I couldn't finish my half chicken!
The cheese board is always great and it comes with a glass of port.
They also let dogs into the bar area which is nice and they have a TV for sport.

Nice location and friendly staff, but food was disappointing. Soggy tomato bread, and the worst scallops I even had.

This is a fantastic local pub with great food and very friendly service - the burger is the best I've had in a restaurant/pub.

We arrived early but it gets pretty busy very quickly so best to book - we'll be back!

Mmm...seems like this guy only reviews pubs in the same chain. Funny that?

I've found The Abbeville to be a really good local pub. The staff are what set it apart from most places - very friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is nice and laid back, good ales and wine list and the food hits the mark. Very busy for sunday lunch, but they do serve all day - so you're better going early or late.

I was so disappointed in The Abbeville! I have just moved to Clapham South and was looking for a local. The staff are very friendly but the service is terrible!

I went to The Abbeville on a Saturday and asked to reserve a table for late lunch at 4pm. I was told that food was served until 4.30pm so we had time for drinks beforehand. At 4pm they told us that the chefs has left for the day! This is after we were having drinks for 45 minutes. We were then told if we waited until 6pm for food they would give us a free drink but we decided to leave.

The following day we went to The Abbeville with a group of friends at 6pm for dinner. I had to ask three times for a menu and waited half an hour before being able to order. Ten minutes later the waitress told us that they had run out of burgers so we ordered bangers and mash. Another ten minutes later she came back and apologised but said they had run out of sausages but they did actually have burgers. 1.5 hours after getting menus we got our food!

I have also gone to The Abbeville on other days to find the entire place (except for the dining area) reserved for private parties. So now we have decided to go to The Abbeville only for a quick drink but never for food. Oh and on that point, the food was overrated! Over priced and quite average. Not bad but not value for money.

The Abbeville is a really nice place to spend an evening. Very tasty food, although it is a little pricey.

I hear the Sunday roast at The Abbeville is pretty impressive too!

The Abbeville is a nice place to eat, the food is reasonable and the prices are great. The staff are friendly and the service is good. The Abbeville's pleasant surroundings and amiable atmosphere make this an enjoyable place to eat. Worth a try!
