My Brother, fiancé and me walked in “Adiva” a Lebanese and Turkish restaurant found in east London next to the ‘city’. I took my car and found it very easy to park, after 6.30 it’s free. The restaurant does not sell alcohol and so you are left to your own devices. There are plenty of off-licences in the immediate vicinity.
We were welcomed with genuine smiles, we were directed to our table, and menus came with complimentary olives.
The staff were extremely attentive, in fact my brother appreciated that staff took great care over his beloved umbrella. My needs were much simpler...my beer went straight into a fridge and my glass never empty of the elixir!
The staff were an affable bunch, I say “bunch” as a number of waiters and the owners would make sure all our needs were met. I was impressed that they also knew their menu and had knowledge of the ingredients used in making these sumptuous dishes.
A great example of this was when I informed them a day before that I was allergic to parsley, which is the reason why I don’t venture into Turkish restaurants as much as I should. Since the food is freshly made on the day, including purchasing of meats and vegetables this posed no problem! They simply provided an equivalent but without the parsley. How about that for service!
My Brother and I ordered grilled mixed meat dish with side dish of halloumi. The dish came with a perfectly made plain rice and stir fried vegetable cooked ‘al dente’, one could taste each type of vegetable and the rice had great texture, extremely light and fragrant. Lamb, beef and chicken were fantastic; I could actually taste the individual flavours of everything on the plate. But the halloumi dish was a revelation, the fig jam on the cheese was a perfect compliment it. My brother and I fought over the last piece of jam covered cheese. My brother’s fiancé had ordered falafel, rice, salad. The falafel and the salad with Lebanese croutons were fresh and were not greasy but crispy and had abs

Adiva has it spot on in all categories, only been open a month but they seem to have nailed it. The food is really cracking, the meat tender well cooked, along with the sides, good virgin cocktails, lowest corkage around which makes it so good value for money. You sit in real nice surroundings, with beautiful wooden historic tables and lanterns listening to nice upbeat Turkish music. I had the Jawanah chicken wings for starter and Kridis which were both really tasty, for my main I had the Lamb Shank that came with a lovely creamy mash, really filling followed by pistachio cheesecake our bill for 2 for all of that came to £34! & The service didn't suffer as well, great idea no inforced service charge but well deserved to the sweet waiter who is really jolly and attentive he is Turkish and knows a lot about the food & culture. I have booked the Red vip section for my mates b-day Night, great section that allows u & mates to enjoy ur self in a hidden way. I'm back there this weekend. Keep it up!
